Luke Thomas

We have the option of 3 CB’s, Castagne left wing-back, Albrighton Right-Back, would that be preferable?
I’m torn over Thomas and his ability, on his debut he put several good crosses in in the first half hour and we were “Chilwell who?”

Also Part of the clean sheet in the cup final, not intimidated by the occasion, but has been had on toast by Pepe and various others. To be fair he’s our 4th best full back having to play every week at the moment, can’t even rotate with Bertrand, but if he’s costing goals or offering little / nothing going forwards do we switch to a back five and use Albrighton and Castagne?

You're completely right in your assessment, but Albrighton has regressed as much as anyone as well.

Which is even more worrying as he's an experienced pro that's never relied on pace.

Feels like he was on a very exciting development curve, but that has just tailed off and he seems a limited player now. Whether he can kick on again under a new manager, will be interesting. Seems similar to Barnes recently, and both have stalled in development, when the early signs were so exciting.

New manager needs to get them back on track, or both will struggle to start games in the future.

I've given up judging pretty much any player under Rodgers too many being asked to play in a way that doesn't suit them, I've said before for some reason Rodgers asked whomever plays left back to go into CM instead of supporting Barnes when we attack

This.

Under a different manager half these players would look completely different. Thomas was proper crap today though, not good.

Sorry refuse to get on this youngmans case…

Hes the least of our problems in our current situation…

The squad, THE TEAM ain’t working, chasing this young kid, used only in case of fire, proves absolutely nothing, other than many posters lack of understanding of current situation and are bullying blame merchants, looking for a cop out…

Actually quite pathetic for so called experienced fans & posters…!!

This. I remember when we were pants at the start of the season and many posters were making similar complaints about Justin. The system puts a lot of pressure on a very fragile defense, and Thomas is the least experienced of all of them.

Rubbish, he’s not good enough. End of.

people are just calling it as they see it. You can still be a fan and criticise.

Thomas needs loaning to a championship team. He’s nowhere near a prem level player.

So it’s Rubbish saying the team ain’t working & It must all be Thomas‘s fault.

Luke Thomas just isn’t good enough. He offers nothing going forward and is lightweight at the back. Premier League forwards ghost past him like he’s not there.

He’s been given ample first team opportunity over the past couple of seasons, and hasn’t progressed.

having said that, he’s probably supposed to be third choice left-back, but has been starting because of our chronic injury record with fullbacks.

That’s not what people are saying though is it. What people are saying is he’s not good enough. Nobody is blaming the whole teams performance on him.

Every other player throws has performance related comments.

Didn’t want to start a new thread but does anyone know why Bertrand doesn’t get a start? Apparently was at the Bridge watching Chelsea today.

because he's been injured and I don't think he was registered due to it

and also shit

well yeah he was very much behind Justin, Castange and Thomas in the pecking order pre-injury, total waste of a huge weekly wage and signing on fee.

and like Vestergaard Rodgers insisted he was signed and dropped him quickly after overruling our transfer guys

Maybe Thomas will never be good enough - it is certainly debatable.

Thomas has had some shocking games recently, but so have many others in the squad - some of whom we know are good enough.

we shouldn't judge any players too harshly at the moment when we are such a dysfunctional mess
