Do we really need him? Unless we intend playing 3 at the back are we going to keep 4 competitive centre halves happy?

If we intend playing with 3 centre halves then it doesn't bode well imo. A right sided attacking player to be in front of Ricardo or Castagne would have been a more pressing concern perhaps?

We definitely need another CB even if we don't play 3atb. We will be playing alot of games next season

50-60 games next season, plenty of games for them all to be rotated

Can also mean that if he needs it that Evans can have longer periods out for recovery if he is still having issues with his foot

1 long term injury to a centre back and then we are stuck back using Amartey/Ndidi/other players out of position for cover

Yes, we need four decent center backs, regardless of whether we play 3 or 4 at the back. Last season demonstrated that, when we had to play Fuchs, Morgan, Amartey or Ndidi at the back! (Kabak is a better option than each of these imo).

It'll be easy to keep them happy. Kabak will be ecstatic to be a Leicester Player. The Premier League is a step up for him, as it is for Fofana and as it was for Soyuncu. They'll all be very happy.

Where is is stated that we won't be getting a right sided forward? - they'll be something in the pipeline, I'm sure.

We have Evans,Soyuncu,Fofana, Amartey , Benko and when necessary Justin , and before you say it nobody is leaving unless they get a contract at least as good as they get now. If , as expected , we revert to a back four Kabak would get maybe ten games , would he be happy with that?

Amartey isn’t even a real footballer and Benkovic spends more time in A&E than he does stood up.

Rodgers wants four capable defenders with one experienced head. Evans will probably be used in the bigger games and Kabak as the rotation.

Rodgers likes the back three and wants to have enough players to cover various formation. One of his criticisms after often was about being flexible and it was clear he didn’t think we could do that.

it’s also a clever move because one of Fofana or Cags won’t be here next season, and Evans is likely to retire.

He’ll get game time. 50+ games this season.

Doubt Benko will be with us this season. Justin is coming back from injury. He won’t be playing any centre back roles

End of the season suggests Brendan doesn't trust Amartey to play centre back for us (he was choosing to use Castagne and Ndidi out of position instead), Benkovic has legs made of Weetabix so no way we could trust him to play regularly for us if needed, we have never seen Justin play in a back 2 either.

Also Amartey isn't on massive wages so entirely possible he could get a move, Benkovic will probably be loaned because realistically no one is going to buy him with his recent record.

50-60 games next season, entirely reasonable to think there will be a fair amount of rotation and just 1 injury to a centre back and he could get even more game time - we have no clue how bad Evans is doing with his foot injury as he isn't even in training yet

Kabak is going to be 4th choice centre back next season and even Amartey got 17 appearances in all competitions, no reason to think he could get around that and maybe more

Spot. On.

This sounds like it's just going off that Rudy guy who is very hit or miss with transfers.

This is a very good point. The type of injury he has had can lead to more serious tendon issues….. So with that in mind we need to cover the potential of losing him.

Think we may get 2 or more seasons out of Evans, but can see Tarkowski coming here on a free next Summer as his long term replacement.

Just for the record, I don’t think it’s true either, despite me posting the link.
I think we’re working on a deal to take Jonathan Tah on a seasons loan, with an option to sign permanently. Just my own opinion 🤷🏻‍♂️

Tah......nah.

I imagine him playing through it at times isn't going to have done him any good either

Just from looking online there are plenty of options to go down before surgery, but if he does have surgery hopefully they did it as soon as the season ended as it looks like it can take a couple of months to recover from

It’s the stress it placed on the Achilles too. When I had my initial examination on mine the specialist said a small injury on the plantar fasciitis indicated a lot of tightness and stress in that area, hence why when put too much pressure on it, it snapped…. Theres the fear something else could happen as a result of that injury. We see it regularly in football, spend a few months over compensating for an injury, and then something else goes due to the stress it is being put under.

But yea, you’re right to point out the potential seriousness of his injury!

We have gone round in a big circle here, without Jonny we are heading for big trouble. Kabak does not change that.

We had similar thoughts about Fofana last summer tbf, but he turned out alright. Seemed like a ludicrous amount to spend on a teenager with 30 apps. Kabak is a decent enough player to be 4th choice, having soy will help him as well, and Brendan is a great coach, I’m sure he’ll be fine.

If we do get a 4th cb and a new winger, will be interesting to see who makes the 25 man squad.

would have the 3 keepers, defence: castagne, Ricardo, evans, soyuncu, fofana, kabak?, Justin, Bertrand, thomas

midfield certainties would be Ndidi, Tielemans, Soumare, Barnes, Maddison, new winger?

Forwards: Vardy, Iheananco, Daka

So only another 4 out of Amartey, Benkovic, Ghezzel, Albrighton, Perez, Sowah, Dewsbury-Hall, Mendy, Praet, Choudhury.

assuming definitely Amartey, Benkovic and Ghezzel sold, and people wanting Sowah and Dewsbury-Hall in the squad after successful loans, only 2 from Albrighton, Perez, Mendy, Praet, Choudhury will make the 25 man squad.  Personally would keep Praet and Perez
