England back in action today against New Zealand in the first T20.

Will we see a strong side or a few fringe /new players getting their chance?

Suspect the team might be:

Jacks

Buttler

Duckett (maybe Malan)

Bairstow

Brook

Livingstone

Ali

Curran

Rashid

Atkinson

Wood

4 spin options plus 3 seam so they may go for Jordan instead of Jacks. I’d like to see them try out Rehan for Moeen but suspect they want Moeen’s batting in there.

Rehan is decent enough with the bat though

I don’t disagree, but I suspect that England see Moeen as more destructive based on experience. If Moeen plays, he probably goes in ahead of Curran but if Rehan plays, he goes in after Curran and possibly even after Jordan too (if Jordan plays). In the Hundred, he was due to come in quite low down in the order.

Can only assume England were experimenting with how they choose to approach certain games at the World Cup

At no point did they fully try to go big yet seemed to be fully happy at posting 280-300.

New Zealand even coming off had a look of well this should be no problem, as it’s proving.

BBC News - Andrew Flintoff: Former England captain pictured for first time since Top Gear accident

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/6675533

Flintoff working with the squad now.

Unsure what the accident with top gear was, but he looks seriously battered even 9 months on

I read about it in a news article a while back. Apparently he was driving an open top vehicle and it flipped at speed - don't think it was a proper car. He wasn't wearing the correct helmet. After it flipped he got dragged along upside down at speed on his face.

When you see his face after 9 months it must have been really bad. The article said it took emergency services while to get there and the production staff had to have counselling after as it was so traumatic.
