Hazelwood's words about going easy on Scotland aren't so clever now...

They could have so easily thrown that game without it even being blatant cheating given how close it was.

Aus taking the moral high ground for once, unchartered territory.

Also don't see how this actually affected their super 8 demise?

It didn't but they're out and England are through so they haven't quite had the last laugh as expected...

Well yes but they didn't throw the game did they?

This would have been the case if they rigged Scotland through then bombed out in the S8 anyway

Speaking of ICC rigging....

What's rigged there?

Did ICC know the forecast months ago?

Is there no reserve day (for either side...) because they need a set time between the semi-final and final?

What if England won their group too, what's the tie-breaker to determine who goes through? Did ICC know England wouldn't win their group and that India would?

Didn't know forecast but put second SF in Guyana for their wettest month of the year (which India were guaranteed to be in regardless of finishing position in S8).

Horrendous planning to have a reserve day for one SF and not the other. Bordering on ridiculous.

Naturally the ICC (might as well be BCCI) didn't know who'd win their group and who wouldn't but outside of that the whole tournament so far has been rigged to suit Indian TV money. Didn't even draw the groups they just hand picked them.

Agree about the planning and they could have picked a better venue and scheduling.

It’s not rigged but there surely must be limits that other teams can tolerate in terms of provisions made for India in each competition? Even the deliberate India v Pakistan draws mean it’s not an open and fair competition.

India, England & Australia (probably in that order), hold all of the power in cricket.

The other nations are scurrying around for crumbs & have to rely on their T20/ franchise cricket. It’s been the same for years. I’m sure the ICC could do more.

In addition to this, because India fans have known they’d likely be in the game for over a year, they’ve booked all the tickets and all the hotels. Apparently English journalists haven’t been able to book anywhere near since finding out on Monday where they were going to play. The Guardian reporting even the BBC radio guys don’t have anywhere.

Well, the last time everything was set up for an India victory the Aussies ruined the party. Perhaps us or the Saffers might be able to oblige this time round.

But the Indian team, even absent off field factors, is formidable.

Even when we play india or pakistan at home the crowd is mostly the opposition. The boys will be used to it hopefully. Every time rohit/kohli bat an eyelid = screaming from the crowd. Unbearable.

Edit: Hadn't even considered the effect you've mentioned above. ICC saying the predetermined groups were to help travelling fans plan ahead, which is fair enough in principle. What they actually meant was helping India fans plan ahead.

Looking like India could well be going through by default after the ICC bent over backwards for them.

Be much easier to accept if they’d beaten us fair and square on the day should it come to no game being played.
