Yep. 4-1.

This game just goes to show how much of a joke the closed shop of international cricket is. Bangladesh have been competing with the top sides for years, despite them still being seen as also-rans. And Scotland constantly upset the odds while basically relying on a strong club scene and ancestry to produce their teams.

It's about time these countries got the respect they deserve from the ICC and 'Big Three'.

I watched "The Death of a Gentleman" on Amazon and it explained how India, England and Australia basically monopolised international cricket.

Interesting stuff as a cricketing layman.

Yeah, great documentary. Really tough call as to who's worse, FIFA or the ICC...

Hope Old Trafford are sufficiently compensated for that. The fact they have another test next summer shouldn't make a difference, they have still missed out on hosting one.

That being said, I'm sure they got a pretty tasty windfall for hosting 3 tests in 2020, so swings and roundabouts I suppose.

Doubt that would compare to matchday revenues from fans at the ground though? Not to mention the income a full ground generates for causal staff in the bars etc.

No, almost certainly not. Also why give another Test to Edgbaston, it's not like they don't already get enough tbh. Why not spread the cash and drum up some interest elsewhere, take it to Taunton, Bristol or Durham for example? Presumably it's just a revenue thing. Keep on milking that cash cow!

Edit: I didn't clock this when posting but they've literally swapped the Edgbaston August test for this one, after already selling tickets, and just assumed people will be fine with going to the rearranged date. E.g. people have bought tickets for a Sunday in August and now have tickets for a Monday in July. What an utter joke.

Lancashire have been completely done over. Losing a potentially thrilling final Test against India for no good reason and now getting an inferior game in terms of attendance and revenue whilst Edgbaston gets India twice.

They should be fuming.

They know it will sell out so want as much money as possible like you say .

Why the change of grounds ?

Old Trafford apparently has a lot of pre-planned events and wouldn't be able to get the square ready.

Castore are literally everywhere now aren’t they, must have a huge budget. Producing both the SA kit here - seem to have a big raft of former sports players on their books peddling the gear too.
