Yep. And I'd trade it all in to win the Ashes in Australia.

I'm in total agreement.

Tonking the Australians over months, on their own patch, bears no equal.

World cup was great to win and the final was an extraordinarily exciting watch, but it didn't give me even the modicum of the same pleasure as brutally demolishing the Australians, at home, over an entire series, as we did in 2010/11 (3rd test notwithstanding, of course).

Three wins by an innings in 5 tests in Australia, I doubt that'll ever be repeated, the WC win probably will be.

If I could relive one cricketing day without knowing what was coming, the WCF wouldn't come close to day 1 of the Boxing Day test 2010. Australia bat first in front of 90,000 baying Aussies. England bowlers make them look like they're batting with handbags. All out for 98 by tea. Previously bullish Aussie fans already doing an India and disappearing home halfway through the afternoon, throwing their toys out of their prams.

Trescothick and Strauss come out, smack them around their own cabbage patch and end the day 157-0 with only a few England fans left in the MCG by close of play ON DAY ONE. 88,000 or so Australians paid for a ticket but facked off home early. Bliss.

In cricketing terms, it doesn't get any better than that.

It didn't look great, but the Black Caps still have to knock them off. You're far from out of this.

They'll do it comfortably.

The shite batting leaves too much for the bowlers to do.

We need at least 2 wickets in the powerplay to give us a chance I think.

I can’t say I’m disappointed that India look like they’re going out as I would have expected them to hit form at some point and I think they would have given England a stern test . They failed to really turn up in the competition and that is a real surprise

Quite a team to be going out early, if they do. I do think, for once, the scheduling hasn't helped India in this competition. Having Pakistan and New Zealand first up isn't the way they'd have preferred it. There was always a chance they'd lose to the other two strongest teams in their group, leaving them on the brink.

As you say, the fact they don't seemed to have turned up is a huge surprise.

I'd love Afghanistan to get through from that group, but I think they'll narrowly fail. I think they'd have had more chance going through from the group England are in, which is the weaker of the two on these surfaces.

Absolutely hideous from Yorkshire. It's bad enough trying to claim that Rafiq wasn't offended by the remarks, but to then turn the tables and try and call him a racist for using a term which is about as offensive as 'aussie' or 'kiwi' is unbelievable. I'm honestly astounded at the gall of it.

Without reading too much into the story I thought there was potential for a misunderstanding and maybe player in question might not have been aware of the distress caused. However if the language in that report is correct then its embarrassing they are so determined to stick up for the 'senior player still at the club'. I've just been looking through the squad to see who it might be
