The "do they mean us?" thread pt 3

Let's be honest, injuries have played a huge part in our demise. As we saw last season, even a team as strong as Liverpool fell away horribly when hit with defensive injuries, which to be honest weren't as extensive as what we've experienced this season (for virtually all of this season we have been missing 3 or 4 of our first choice back 4). Liverpool were 8th or 9th until a strong late run over the last 10 games saved their season to some extent. 8th or 9th for them is like lower mid table for us which is where we are now.  Our only hope is that we can get key players back from injury and have a strong finish, like they did last year.  It's important to remember that around 20% of our PL fixtures so far have been against Man City and Liverpool. As in the great escape season, our run in looks favourable on paper so you never know......

That’s a lovely bit of positivity, go you!!

Sorry if that's what you feel. I thought your point was that local journos should be asking difficult questions of Brendan about our lack of wins rather than injuries. But my point is that the latter have played a crucial part in the former so the two points are not unrelated.

It’s all how you play the journalists, how open you are to giving them access to the squad, a small story here and there and you’ll be fine.

Look at Steve Bruce at Newcastle, I heard pundits defending him left right and centre, where as Rafa, Mourinho and co get shafted.

Look at the different way Pearson and Ranieri were treated by the media when we struggled in the league.

Max Kilman has been better this season than Maguire by a long way. He's not put a foot wrong this season so far, and needs to be thought about for the England setup. He's miles better than Tryone Mings for a start.

Mings is a garbage. Surprised to learn he has 16 ****ing England caps. Unbelievable how has shithoused his way into the England setup.

It's a giant killing so they'll obviously bring the DVDs out and milk it for as long as possible. That's what tinpot clubs do.

Yep as said elsewhere its their greatest win of the past 20 years so let the little tinpots milk it. Also a nice bonus points touch by going at lengths in not naming us, I mean they wouldnt want to show the world they gave a shit about this win would they?

This ends 1-1 and Arsenal don't get false hopes of winning the title, and thus the post match dressing room selfie don't become a meme. BTW, 6 years ago this. Christ, time has flown by.

That's a bit tinpot from arsenal. Bit like Watford celebrating "Deeney day" regardless of the fact they went on to lose in the final?

You expect it from Watford. Bit sad that Arsenal, with their long history of winning trophies, celebrating the day they scraped an extremely jammy win against the eventual champions they finished nine points behind?

Yes. In the past Arsenal have been thought of as a classy and proud club. This seems somewhat lacking. We did have the last laugh though. Under heading blessing in disguise

LCFC social media accounts are constantly posting "on this day" stuff. Wouldn't say they're celebrating it.

Arsenal fans give it too much credence, it’s a sign of their decline that the Emirate’s best moment is that

LCFC fans still reminisce about Steve Howard scoring a last minute header against Leeds in League 1.

It’s funny how many will forever keep up the “we don’t care” stuff even with the way they’ve gone on lol others have gone a bit quiet on that front, I think they know there’s a real possibility they end up with us in the Prem while Derby are in League 1, as much as they might act like the rivalry with Derby is everything they’d take it in a heartbeat.
