The "do they mean us?" thread pt 3

Last season the talk was that outside of our first 11 the squad didn't have enough quality/strength in depth. And that things had gotten stale under Rodgers and we needed a bit of refresh.

Now it looks like we're making little to no signings, whilst potentially losing Schmeichel, Tielemans, Lookman and yet the general sentiment is that we'll be alright and have a great squad.

It can't be both surely?

Last season we were winning games with 12+ players injured and the line was complaining about squad depth.

I believe our depth is now really really good. Amertey, Albrighton, Perez are players that ideally wouldn't make an appearance if everyone is fit yet played plenty of matches.

We just need to improve our first 11 which is why I would be happy with a replacement for Evans and a new right winger and not much else.

Both statements are overreactions.

We are somewhere in the middle, full fit and fire we have a good squad.

Whether losing those 3 makes a massive difference is up for debate.

I'd argue on current form Tielemans doesn't get in our best midfield 3 (Based on his form last year), it would be Maddison, KDH and Ndidi.

Lookman is a good option but not sure he's getting into our best 11 when everyone is fit without shoehorning into the RW spot.

Schmeichel is probably the best loss if he goes as we have no idea how Iversen or Ward will do over 38 games.

Do you know why Darren Bent talks sense, because he does his job, and takes an interest in whats going on at all the clubs, rather than only having an interest in what the big 6 are doing.

Alot of the pundits, are going on about us having no money, there must be something very wrong at Leicester, has the Leicester City bubble burst, and so on, but thats because they can`t be bothered to really look at the facts of the situation.

They dont really have an interest in us, they are lazy and so dont bother to do the research. They would rather turn the story to what suits them, its easier than looking into whats really happening, and to be honest, it would be a bigger and more interesting story for them, if the club was in trouble, and were in a relegation fight this season.

There are plenty out there, opposing fans and pundits, who would be quite happy to see Leicester get back in their box, and go back to being a yo yo club, and a make up the numbers club, while in the premier league too.

We have put quite a few noses out in recent seasons.

A lot of media personalities either support or played for big clubs, so there's probably a lot of that. I remember Jason Cundy telling us to 'stay in our lane' when we were playing hardball over Maguire's fee to Man Utd.

The story, the clicks and the views also take precedence. Having a recent title winner and FA Cup winner in a relegation battle suits them, especially one that isn't big enough for said relegation to be produce a huge defecit in interest in the league itself. (Man Utd or Arsenal being relegated, for example, would be great for interest in the EFL but disastrous around the world for the Premier League in the season(s) where those clubs aren't in the league.)

Having a cycle of clubs that come up do better than expected then return to where they came from keeps the status quo as it is (Big Six + the rest) and gives the media stories about the promotions, overachievements, and subsequent relegations of these other clubs.

Unlike the likes of Danny Mills who for some strange reason believes he was a top player because he once played for Man C despite this being before the glory years & in a 5yr spell only played a total of 51 games for them.
Considering his other clubs,Norwich, Boro, Leeds, Charlton, Hull & Derby you'd think he would look out for the smaller guy & do research on them, but no, he's a 'I played for Manchester City & i will act like it' again despite his only real achievment is winning the 2003/4 League cup with Boro against Bolton W lol

Side note just seen on Wiki that Man C & Leicester hold the record for most 2nd Division (so old 2nd, 1st then Championship lges) titles with 7 each.

What's going on? Usually TalkSport talk absolute rubbish about us

The best pundit quote on Leicester in decades…

Somebody has at last got their act together, unscrambled the monotonous

of this enigma of needing transfers…

This forum ought to settle down & appreciate what we have…

Ignor the noise from very poor incompetent media thugs ( at this time of year)

& bring some decorum to our situation…

Ignore speculating & speculative posts coming from within the forum…

Stories based on individual thoughts & way-off opinions, then rinse & go again

attitude…Just because the poor boys need to have their say….Based so far on

nothing…

Fofana just turned 20…signed a new deal, needs a season to prove first to himself

that he his fit for high flying career….Then some twat makes up rumours..!

Tielemans….Typical media arrousing thoughts, but no facts..

Tielemans..himself as not made any damning statements…

3000 pages wasted on noise…

And not many of you have stood up & supported the Club..

just lambasted the whole set up….!'!

What a strange article to write but then again I expect no less from something associated with Leeds United.

Same group of papers as the Mercury so par for the course.

The England reference is totally illogical.

With the money and the competition in the premier league if you're not moving forwards you're moving backwards, there can't be much sitting still in this era.

Quite right. But at least our culture has been rescuttled or whatever.

Predicted to finish 9th by the Guardian, though take their expertise with a pinch of salt as the second paragraph ends with the claim that our fully fit team beat Liverpool after Christmas last season.

Our fully fit team beat Liverpool? When was that? In 2015-2016? When we beat Liverpool last season we were close to asking the barman of the stadium to play as a CB.

Ndidi and Amartey played as CBs, Soumare and Choudhury in the midfield. We had Nelson and McAteer on the bench.

I wouldn't expect anything better from the Guardian though. I'm surprised they didn't mention that our injuries were caused by the climate change.

Somewhere between 10th and 7th is realistic.

So the punters think we're the most likely to get relegated yet also have a player who could win the Golden Boot :crylaugh:

It’s more the price I would have thought… no point backing a newly promoted team or one who struggled last season as their odds are tiny.

We were 16/1 and the media are bugging up skint Leicester are selling everyone.
