Why does Alabama love Hull so much?

A quick Google says that one of Alabama's University teams is called The Tigers.

Could be something to do with it?

College American football teams out there are fvcking insane.

The stadiums are bigger than NFL grounds.

According to that map, only popular in DC.  Which isn't even one of the 50 states.

The popularity equivalent of winning the Audi Cup.
