Is she crying because she's sorry or is she crying because she's been thrown under the bus and lost* her £125k plus perks job?

*She'll definitely be in another 6 figure job by the end of this year's No 10 Christmas party.

And it'll only be a matter of time before the Tories come out feigning private anger, no doubt denying they knew anything about it with their crocodile tears. But THEY were instrumental in fementing the disgusting climate of arrogant impunity that led to it happening in the first place, then spent the past week LYING about it happened at all.

Called it. Record timing. We all feel really sorry for you, now fvck off.

The press should earn its stripes, now.

Q1. Why would you ever expect the public to follow the guidelines given by those they consider to be hypocrites?

Q2. Is this press conference "a diversionary tactic" ?

So basically not much has changed from the last press conference. Deaths and people in hospital still at the same sort of level.  These press toss pots best hammer him here.

Really ?

We now have domestic and international evidence that this is doubling every two/three days - do the maths!

it’s the sensible course of action until we know about how it may evade vaccine efficacy and the virulence of omicron.

You fell for it. They knew this information over 2 weeks ago and didn't share it or change guidance. Nor has it had an impact here despite it being far more widespread than first thought.

Interesting that they chose today.....

Wasn't his original restrictions based on the fact that this was spreading a lot more easier.

He's only bringing these in today to divert us away from his party bollocks.

Still no deaths from this variant yet.

Possibly.

It is cherry picking of data though to show what they want it to show.

For instance, the case rate in S Africa has also increased due to double the numbers being tested in comparison to last month.  This is then omitted from the trend that is shown.

The fact that they’re self-serving idiots who are only belatedly saying this is the best course of action in a desperate attempt to distract us from the fact that they’re an arrogant bunch of liars doesn’t mean it isn’t the best course of action.

It is possible to agree that people working from home is probably a good idea and yet still have room in your brain to despise the government.

It was a good idea a month ago though....

I know what we’ll do

To distract from the Xmas party story,

let’s arrange a full press conference/briefing  where journos can ask me directly about the party in the room where the video was taken

some of you are v strange if you see this a a distraction technique …..

the papers will report/not report  the party story based on their politics and how far up boris’ arse they are
