Sly Posted 14 January 2022 Share Posted 14 January 2022 I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. This government is incompetent and needs replacing. The opposition isn’t up to the job and needs to get itself in order. We are in need of a solid, 3rd party option that is competent and to a degree not corrupt. In fact, we’re desperate for this right now …..

But given how long ago, wouldn't surprise me it its overridden by now. Some CCTV systems only record for about a month? As for Priti Patel, a) there's always a tweet and b) if it's the public she'll show her power, if it's her own people, she'll do fvck all.

My honest opinion @Daggersis that they’ve genuinely not done enough. They’re far from clean themselves and need to sort their own politics out. It’s taken the Conservative party to self destruct, for them to make headway. I’m without a doubt not a Labour supporter, so appreciate others may take a different view. A strong opposition is required to oppose whichever side is in control.

Nobody has done as bad as this government, all the cuts the tories do and running the country into the ground but they still blame it on Labour who were in power over a decade ago!
Popular Post Pliskin Posted 14 January 2022 Popular Post Share Posted 14 January 2022 The tories have compromised the integrity of the entire political system. All those other public servants who were forced to work during the height of the pandemic, and still abide by the laws set out by them have been pissed on, as well as every other citizen in this country. MP’s have usually been the arse-ends of a middle class society, but this has really taken the mick. Anyone one else serving in a public office who did this would have been sacked.

Imagine equating taking health of yourself and other people seriously, to being an apparent dullard. Imagine being deluded enough to still defend Boris ****ing Johnson. Popular Post Vlad the Fox Posted 15 January 2022 Popular Post Share Posted 15 January 2022 People did bend the rules, I know of some who had family in their back garden, socially distanced. We’d gather on our street Thursday evenings after the clap, bring out a chair and sit on our own gardens having a drink and chat with the neighbours sat on their own front gardens, it was good and brought the street closer together. One was a lady who lived on her own, it was her lifeline. However, the pm and his cronies should have been whiter than white, they were running the country, laying down the rules, set the example, someone should have been strong enough to stop this at the very beginning. But if you put weak immoral people in charge of the country, you get weak immoral leadership. cummings can **** off too, he’s no better and is running round like a women/man scorned because he go dumped. He’d have been right in on this. 2

And to be honest I don’t think anyone on here honestly expected everyone to follow them, there are just some people who can’t be told what to do, however…. When the leaders of your nation can’t even be arsed to follow their own guidelines there’s a problem, because it more than calls their integrity into question and completely undermines everything we tried to achieve. Government leaders are suppose to be intelligent, responsible people and lead by example…. If a group of coppers had a party during the height of lockdown and it was exposed, they would all be sacked no questions asked, but the leaders of your country do it, and it shouldn’t be an issue? Not everyone sings from the same hymn sheet, but those who work in senior public sector role’s such as a politician for example, must show exquisite behaviour, and a prepared to lead by example, anything less shouldn’t be tolerated, because it undermines everything they try to implement. 8

Yep, not really answered my question though. What precisely do you expect an opposition party to do? You say they should do more - what? An opposition can only oppose the governing party or hold it to account through questioning or action in committees - both of which it does if you watch committees working. So if they’ve “not done enough”, what is it you think they should be doing?
