I think the cost of living crisis is what's really gonna stick a nail in the Tory coffin. Boris has brought them down to new depths but when people start to realise how much it's costing them and that maybe the Tories aren't as safe on the economy as they make out, I think support could plummet.

Of course there is the pandemic which will always give them a get out of jail free card with some voters, but I don't think that will fly with alot of voters.

This absolutely. If energy and food prices are low the vast majority of people genuinely don't really care what the politicians get up to if its not directly affecting them. This cost of living crisis though combined with all the self serving corruption and lies will absolutely bury them come the next GE.

Just to top off a great day for Boris given he's had 4 key members of staff hand in their notice, he's also been using misleading figures on crime in parliament.

And the potential fallout of boris' Brexit deal, with the NI agreement (remember the red line he wouldn't cross when May was pm) takes another worrying turn

Tory shills are being sent out to say that they aren't resignations (which might make a PM look weak) , they're sackings (which might make a PM look strong).

This despite actual resignation letters.

Its also extremely funny that, by Johnson parroting the right wing conspiracy theory about Saville, it's actually drawn more attention to the fact that the conspiracy theory isn't correct.

Incredible. Didnt we reach our highest ever New Year's Eve temperature this winter ?

Remember these people have highly paid "advisors" who tell them when they should take a piss.

Perhaps he's referring to a colder winter world wide?

Energy prices are extremely high everywhere in the world.

In part caused by a diplomatic situation between Russia and the West. Admittedly not qualified or well read enough on the subject to know the in's and out's. There's a bottle neck of energy supply effectively in summary.

When you are a government like the Tories that has basically only been formed due to a rightwing alliance of sorts where the Tories have effectively swallowed all the other right wing parties' vote share. The number one thing you do not want to do is wake up the 33% of the population that is politically inactive because they usually when they do become active just vote to fix whatever short term problem made them care about the state of the nation. Making the utility bills double is going to hurt them badly here. Even the most politically inactive people will take notice at this rate. Which can only be a bad thing for the Tories. They are ****ing themselves over from every angle. If Labour lose the next GE then Starmer was worse than Corbyn no question.
