The FA Cup win hid the fact that it was another catastrophic end to the season. Two chokes off historic proportions in succession. I just fear the latest one has broken our back somewhat. Maybe it's best if both parties walk away. His time here will go down as a remarkable success given the history of the club before him but this can't go on. The energy, passion, tempo, style of play, team-spirit are miles off where it needs to be and if something doesn't change we'll be dragged in to a bottom six dogfight. He has been significantly backed this summer in terms of net spend which has been uncharacteristic of the club and I doubt the owners will be best pleased with what they are seeing. Especially with the size of our wage bill! I don't believe he should be sacked and I don't think he will be unless we dip in to the bottom 3 from here on out but I would expect a parting of the ways next summer. Personally I'd like to see Potter, Frank or Howe given a chance here. A new vision for a new rebuild. Thomas Frank is the man , but we’ll have to be quick others will sniff around . You can see he is intelligent and give him our players we could do something . Never rated Rodgers , even if he won us the Europa I’ll smile for a short while and wouldn’t be at loss if he then went on . Charleton

5waller5 Posted 30 September 2021 Share Posted 30 September 2021 It's very Puelesque, and so frustrating as we CAN play some beautiful scintillating football ... but seem to hand the momentum to the opposition every single game, we simply never start brightly anymore. Surely if you're BR and want to make the game a 30 minute game then win the first 30 and then manage the rest. Not hope to get to 60 mins at 0-0. Charleton Personally I’d be skeptical of a manager from a team that’s just got promoted. Many teams like this have a great 1st season riding the crest of a wave. Good examples include Chris Wilder, Nuno, Biesla. We have lost some influential players from the dressing room: Morgan, Fuchs, King. Also, if you look at our wage bill we’ve actually over achieved in recent seasons

Obvs if we start getting cut adrift then wilder in Tbf this does generally reflect my thoughts apart from the last sentence which I hope is a joke. He's earnt far more patience than simply saying get rid now. I do think just shouting 'who else is available?' is a bit lazy unless you've done a detailed analysis of most of the top flight clubs in Europe though, as the club would do. I think plenty of managers would leave their current club for us and they've shown how much they're willing to pay managers now, and it's a lot. Should definitely be sticking with Rodgers for the time being though.

Popular Post murphy Posted 30 September 2021 Popular Post Share Posted 30 September 2021 After breaking into the top six twice running and winning The FA Cup, Rodgers has earned the right to expect our support and patience during a bad spell. The only way that changes is if we are under genuine threat of relegation, in my view, as we were under Ranieri. That said, I think we might be seeing the beginning of the end of Rodgers' team. After a poor start and poor performances, I think it is highly likely that Youri will want to move on and who can blame him? Vardy continues to defy Father Time but it cannot last forever, Evans may have run his race and would Rodgers be up for a rebuild and transition? I think, probably not and I reckon our coffers are depleted anyway. When a good team goes bad, or when good players look like shadows of themselves (Maddison, Soyuncu) it suggests, to me, unrest in camp. I'm only guessing of course, but I've seen it happen before. If this is the end of another era, I hope it is not a drawn out process, a slow death. Whatever happens, I think that Rodgers deserves a bit more respect than he is currently getting after all that he has achieved and we should all be careful what we wish for.

Winning a Fa cup was awesome but we didn't win that because he was a strategically superior coach we won that cup because of Kasper's magical saves and Youri's wonder strike. Go find and re-read the game stat's of that game. About 2 5th finish. It was the worst football performance for 2 season in row from the so called big 6 and we really couldn't capitalise it. Simple is that. This is such a boring narrative. Rodgers has been here since March 2018 and in that time, we have had two record breaking finishes (excluding 15/16) and won the FA Cup for the first time ever. Say what you want about individual brilliance in the final but would you undermine Mancini as a manager because his team won a competition on penalties in Euro 2020? Same applies to Tuchel, would you undermine him because Chelsea rode their luck at times against City in the UCL final too? You simply need big players to step up in finals, I notice how you’ve also conveniently missed our games against Man United and Southampton on the road to the final. We are all frustrated with the start to the season and I am sure that I share your qualms with the last few games. However, this is such a reactionary comment. OadbyBlue Posted 30 September 2021 Share Posted 30 September 2021 I’m not sure Frank is the answer just yet, I remember when Wagner was getting similar praise when Huddersfield made a good start to their first season after promotion.
winteriscoming Posted 30 September 2021 Share Posted 30 September 2021 I don’t see a better option. Not convinced with Potter. Finishing between 15th and 17th. Frank has started well this season but untried in the pl. Rodgers certainly deserves more time to turn it around.

Best time of our lives the last 6 years and fans moan, imagine if you lot all excited under pleat, or having a team of beer Brian little that was shit but won games. Get a ****ing grip man and realise that half the league have more money, higher wages etc and at some point that will show in the table.
