cropstonfox Posted 25 September 2022 Share Posted 25 September 2022 On a positive note. He could be a club legend in 20 months time. Celebrating promotion from the championship. This would be with an academy based squad with a few old pros. Is the the vision of the board?? "EIEIEIO up the football league we go! ..... ..... We are the champions Brendon is the king"

SuperMike Posted 26 September 2022 Share Posted 26 September 2022 16 hours without a post on FT's record topic (1569 pages and counting!) . I can only assume he's finally been sacked and somewhere there is a thread along the lines of: "YEEEAAAHHH! FINALLY THE POISON **** HAS GONE...... ithuriel Posted 26 September 2022 Share Posted 26 September 2022 Personally, I'm still hoping he can turns things around, we smash the tree's into kindling and we climb back up into mid table, I doubt it will happen but you never know but I can't fathom hating the guy since he did have some success here, he is completely different to Peter Taylor who trashed the team and accomplished nothing bar one of the quickest declines I've ever seen once he really got his feet under the table. I think Brendan will have to go simply because I doubt he knows how to turn things around, still hoping he can of course but can't see it happening.

I think Brendan will have to go simply because I doubt he knows how to turn things around, still hoping he can of course but can't see it happening. The main difference between the two managers is the level/potential of our current playing squad, which makes this situation worse, assuming we continue down the current path. To his credit, Brendan is a good coach. There was a point he was adding value. It can't and wasn't all the players' doing for our good form. There's also an argument of course that a better manager would have got us over the line for UCL qualification in at least one of the two seasons we narrowly missed out. Equally a poor coach wouldn't have got us playing such good football. Problem is, he's not good at making managerial calls, and by all accounts he's even worse at being a decent, likeable human being. Players seem to grow sick of him. My prediction for Monday? Similar game to Brentford. A capitulation draw. As far as how I'll deal with that, the good thing is I have limited hope, so there's only so much more disappointed I can get now. It is almost certain there will be a form of capitulation on Monday. Maybe my remaining glimmer of expectation, that we won't be totally tw@ted in our own back yard will be the final, parting surprise. Either way, hopefully the latest capitulation in the series vs. our local rivals, in whatever form it manifests, is enough to finally force the powers into action. As is the nature of football, it isn't entirely unimaginable that we somehow find a win. I'd be very surprised, and any joy at beating our rivals would be bittersweet. I'm not convinced it would necessarily buy him much time, rather that yet another embarrassment, a third on the bounce, in such a toxic atmosphere vs. our rivals would surely be enough to get him sacked. The only remaining hope I can cling to is that we might turn it around against lesser opposition, and Southampton and Brentford were just bad days. It feels a stretch. If embarrassment is indeed on the menu for Monday and he still doesn't get sacked, I'll believe we're set for relegation, and with no hope, I'm going to struggle to find the appetite to tune in or turn up to watch it, to be honest. Some will call that plastic. To those people I'd ask this; if you were sent footage of a loved one being tortured, would you watch that? Every weekend and some midweek evenings. For an hour and a half. Extreme perhaps, but you see my point. I was a season ticket holder when we got relegated to the third tier and I was a season ticket the season after. At least then we had hope. I will not watch a hopeless team that does nothing to address its issues. 4

Popular Post deep blue Posted 27 September 2022 Popular Post Share Posted 27 September 2022 I sent a "Brendan Out" message, listing reasons, to [email protected]. I had no acknowledgement so I resent the email to [email protected], explaining that I'd had no acknowledgement and asking to be assured that it would reach her. I had the automated response from this, as expected, but 2 days later I received a response that Susan Whelan has received my email and my comments would be noted. This last email of acknowledgement appeared to come from [email protected] but is signed ""Board Office" and there is a quoted email address [email protected]. I've looked since at communication advice from LCFC and they quote the Board Office email address so it looks like this is the way to go if you want to get your message across. I'm posting this just to give people confidence that there is a way to get your message across to the Board. I'm not naive enough to expect that any notice will be taken UNLESS they get flooded with similar opinions, so I hope it might encourage others on here to take the plunge. Whatever else, it's better than just moaning on here, and doing nothing, and feeling helpless.

His opinion of himself is far too high for him to even consider he might not be up for the job, though.

He will be making a balanced decision - Is it better to resign, after already making plain that he wasn’t backed in the summer, and walk into X job that have put the feelers out with his agent…. OR ….. Keep taking the money and try to turn it around with more possession. He’s doing the latter as the former relies on options and they haven’t presented themselves yet.
