Brendan Rodgers

Recommended Posts

We’re in a pretty bad way, to be blunt.  Rodgers has lost the players and a good chunk of the squad is unusable strictly because of his obsession with exiling talented players.  Praet and Soyuncu are clearly better than what’s on the pitch but not even a factor as reserves.  One or two injuries and we’re in serious danger if we don’t make a change, and the owners won’t make a change because of the money.

Things are bad now, but they could easily get a lot worse.

He won us the fa cup and that's amazing it really is.  But all I remember him for apart from that is a catastrophic collapse at the end of his first full season to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory for a Champions League spot.  And then, almost impossibly, doing the same thing again the following season.

Since then, he's gotten progressively worse and now we've hit rock bottom and all fingers are pointing at him.  And the reason it's his fault is either because he isn't intelligent enough to see what we can all see, or he's too stubborn to change despite getting bad result after bad result.   Whichever it is is a precarious situation to be in.

Top, if you are reading this, just fire the guy!  We are going nowhere but down with him.

He speaks like the club should just be happy with mid-table and giving we pay him a huge wage to progress us, that isn’t good enough. We can get a number of better managers for how well we pay him.  We are going backwards

Compare Rodgers with Hasenhuttl on the sidelines today, one manager under pressure running up and down shouting at his players, retrieving the ball for his players, whereas Rodgers is standing sulking with his hands in his pockets.

That's the point I'm making. Who negotiated the ridiculous wages that our players seem to be paid, which is making it so difficult to move them on. I'm not making excuses for Rodgers but I doubt it was him.

I want him out as well by the way

That’s a fair point but if the rumours regarding Vesty and Bert are true, then it is actually BR who is largely to blame. At least Soumare would be on less presumably and is much younger so will have some resale value.

He’s also not utilised the players he does have in a sensible way. We should not forget that we haven’t really made many big sales under BR, the club has given him a decent window of time to work with one of the better sides we’ve ever had.

Seems like the club is very much in a toxic state right now, Brendan resorting to covering his own backside talking about our ‘financial situation’ and leaving Fofana sat up in the stands on show like a naughty boy, embarrassing for the club. Worst part is it feels like he can get away with poor results knowing the financial problem he is for the board. Top needs to establish his authority and the time is now.

Hassenhutl is still shite. Makes no difference whether he is ranting and raving, Southampton will finish in the bottom 6-8 this season. The fact Rodgers can’t get a result at home against him is seriously concerning, especially with the awful mindset he installs and an ever regressing squad

The worst thing is that he had a chance to change the mentality and the style of play during the summer but no, it's the same old turgid football that barely creates anything.

Could you imagine him playing this style at Man United and Tottenham? They'd be screaming Attack! every week.

Please please please just sack him... please!

His substitutions killed us AGAIN! taking out width off and having us play with so many centre mids, everything going right through the middle. This constant nonsense of a high-press and intensity when out of possession, there is nothing of the sort.. we stand off the other team until they get into our box then we react. These are his failings, he just needs to go.
