We just need someone who can get enough out of this group of players for us to finish 17th or better this season. We don’t have a big guy up top, imagine punting the ball up to Daka or Vardy to win headers all game, and to assume he can just switch up his style is grasping at thin air. It is unreal how much of a protected species Rodgers is with the national press. They are so blinkered, like flies caught in his web of self-protective spin. It would be very different of course if he had performed as he has done over the past year or so for a 'Big Six' club (as it was when he was at Liverpool), but because of who we are, he constantly gets away with it (reading between the lines, the 'Leicester should be grateful to have him' argument still perversely persists).
