In comparison Mourinho only got £6m on the £15m he would have gotten at Spurs for taking another job within a year. The £15m was to cover about a years wages (thr notice period that almost all managers have in their contracts) but there was negotiation that not all would be received if he took another job before that period it covered theoretically ended.

Would we have been so stupid to agree to Rodgers getting his WHOLE contract paid up? The media have suggested not and that it would be £10m or so which is consistent with how its often done with managers but it would explain the obstacles.

The club that paid £15 million for Vestergaard, I could very much believe that Rodgers has probably outdone them in the negotiations haha.

Even if it's £20-30 million though. It's still cheaper than the £100 odd million we'd love by getting relegated. Which we do not need when we're committed to paying back Macquerie (however it's spelled) bank over the next 3 years.

He wants his full money f**k him, I say doesn’t deserve it hopefully we can sue him.

But it's not what he deserves now is it?

It's a reflection of how desperate the owners were to keep him when the contract was negotiated.

I want him gone but l won't criticise him for doing precisely what l and virtually 100% of us would do in his place.

The man deserves to never get another top job after this, but he's a serial Blarney stone kisser so he'll con some other poor sap l suppose.

When he hinted he would leave and the club got down on their knees to beg him to stay , some on here suggested paying him whatever he asked. You never do that with managers , they are not worth it , as we have found out to our cost. We must never, ever do it again.

Just think it's a shame for the people who have organised it for their family and friends or got it as a gift, the kids who's birthday it is, and for the staff members at the club who's time has been wasted.

You'd think the grown adults doing this would be mature enough to think about those things.

Not only that, but it's also an attempt at making your own football club look silly! Why would you want to do that?

I think they've proven they're more than capable of doing that themselves

If negotiations are ongoing about a settlement, how can the club leave him in charge of the first team? His position is untenable, he knows he's going sooner or later, and it gives him an opportunity to deliberately lose more games to get the club to pay more so he goes. They are letting him use our premier League status as a hostage, give him the cash or he can take us down. Madness

Er, this entire post completely ignores the very important little word at the beginning.

Looking at the payoffs that sacked managers from the rich 6 club got in recent years, the biggest payoff was the 15 mill that Man Utd had to pay Jose when they sacked him 6 months after giving him a new contract (assume he was VERY well paid at Man Utd). Poch got 12 mill from Spurs & PSG,   Tuchel got 13 mill from Chelsea and  Solskjær 7.5 mill. As you said the max Rodgers should be getting is around 10 mill.

1.They aren't

2.They haven't

3.They aren't

4. Would be if any of the above had a milligram of truth to it - it doesn't.
