I'm not saying we've turned a corner but yesterday Rodgers did everything right. 11

Popular Post LCCFox96 Posted 24 October 2022 Popular Post Share Posted 24 October 2022 I'm still Rodgers out but there are a few glimmers of hope and reasons to be optimistic on what we've seen in the last 3 games regardless of the quality of the opposition: - 7 points from the last available 9. Fvck me was it needed and I'm sure most fans would have snapped your hand off that if offered it prior to Palace, Leeds and Wolves - Out of the relegation zone and noticeably more buzz and confidence about the players - 4 clean sheets in the last 5 games. The woodwork and some shoddy finishing has helped us out at times, but we've earned that luck with improved performances an we've created our own chances - Better game management from Rodgers - this for me is the big one - a noticeable improvement in us managing winning positions. Sensible subs at the right times. I'm really liking the reintroduction of Mendy to regular pitch time and balancing the game through using Soumare and Mendy in tandem. Soumare has found some form and looks much closer to what I'd hoped he'd be last season, and Mendy's style is perfect for closing out games when winning. - Fewer errors from the likes of Ward and the defence meaning we don't have to score 3 per game to get a point/s. The whole defensive set-up is better, Faes has made a sizeable difference and everything feels more stable. Rodgers has a massive amount of work to do to turn things around fully, and whilst the sides we have beaten are the weaker/weakest sides in the league, we have tucked all 3 away convincingly and it's very much a first, small step in the right direction.

We've been aghast at his poor subs at times and seemingly deliberate refusal to use them at others so hopefully a penny's dropped.
l444ry Posted 24 October 2022 Share Posted 24 October 2022 (edited) I've been on the OUT side of things for a while but if he'd come over to the fans after the game he'd have received applause. The Set Piece Coach and Wous have worked wonders and improved things massively. The acid test is Man City. Leicester_Loyal Posted 24 October 2022 Share Posted 24 October 2022 Here till WC minimum, although I think he was before yesterdays win anyway. Good result and tactics and subs were spot on, gotta give him credit for that. Still want him out though, just hope we can stay up. Minimum of 3 points needed from next 3 games, ideally you’d want 4 or 5.

I personally thought if he'd have gone over to our fans some would have booed / chanted something negative towards him. He clearly thinks the same and until he winning more games that'll be the way it stays. If we get up in to the top half of the table I think most people will start to lay off him. Leeds Fox Posted 24 October 2022 Share Posted 24 October 2022 I still think we need a change, but we really did need those points on the board. 10-0 agg result against Leeds, Palace, Wolves and Forest is actually quite commendable, regardless of how sh!te they are.

Man City Premier league champions & on paper probably the best club side in the world, that Man City? What exactly are you hoping for, i would certainly like us to put up a front but not sure i'd put this game down as a marker of progress & won't be calling for heads if we don't win, maybe the Everton or W/Ham games after this 1 would be better markers? wardyfox86 Posted 24 October 2022 Share Posted 24 October 2022 Wouldn't say he did anything particularly out of the ordinary yesterday, but he got it right. I called 2 of his 3 subs during half time, and the minute he'd make them. Even a broken clock is right twice a day. The course was right for this particular horse etc.

BenTheFox Posted 24 October 2022 Share Posted 24 October 2022 I'll give him some credit in that him and the players have put some sort of run together. However, what these five games have proven to me is that we possess far more quality than some other teams in this league. I am by no means 'Rodgers in' after a decent points return from our last five games. I can't possibly be until we are well away from this end of the table. The only thing we’ve done differently for me is be a bit more compact as a team, and the set piece coach has started to make a real impact … other than that it looks same old to me, and I can’t see any points coming from the next two games. Hope I’m wrong of course

Death by Football Posted 24 October 2022 Share Posted 24 October 2022 I'm certainly not "Rodgers In" after a couple of good results but I'm willing to give credit where it's due. Yesterday was much more like what we know this team is capable. The noticeable difference in the last two games is our lack of possession and willingness to press as a team. We're also moving the ball forward far faster than in the Rodgersball we've become accustomed to which is allowing us to make use of the space we create when we bring the opposition on to us. If this mini-run of form is down to Rodgers adapting his outlook then fair enough but I'll reserve judgement for a while yet. Great to see Vardy on the scoresheet.
