Which is absolutely frightening. Yeah it's very scary, we are perilously close to the drop with something like the 15th highest wage budget in Europe? We have 8 players out of contract but will basically be in the championship stuck with players like Vestergaard on 80k a week, Vardy on 140k a week, I hope to god they have huge relegation clauses on either their wages or release clauses. However, regardless of that, if you have a flawed hapless manager who continues in the same way that has been responsible for our decline for such a long time now, expect similar results. Will he get us relegated? Don't know, we shouldn't be though. If not, it will be more down to us having better players than many of the teams around us rather than anything Rodgers is doing. Unfortunately, his gradual indoctrination of media and some supporters over his tenure will lead to the belief by some, that he's still the Messiah for leading us out of a potential relegation battle! Lots of people criticising or saying things contrary to my personal belief? Fake news. Bots. Can’t state why but will just try and discredit. The mood not being sunshine, lollipops and rainbow happiness? I personally can’t handle that so I’m going to show my intolerance to anything other than positivity. It’s why a discussion about Rodgers right now will often divide into those who are using facts (like win rates, league position or in-game statistics) and criticising based on factors like wage spend, recruitment success and expected performance. Those who want him out. And then those who want everyone to “get behind the lads” or who question who better we could get right now or believe the narrative he’s spun in his press conferences and interviews. They can’t bear the thought of ‘negativity’ and they want him to remain.
