Brendan Rodgers

Recommended Posts

Pearson deserves huge appreciation for building us along with our Thai owners as we were a tin pot disgrace for the best part of a decade.

But he's failed at pretty much every club he's managed since us and his PL record would have us demanding bodies served. We are a top 6-7 aspiring team year in, year out. Pearson is a decent manager/borderline PL manager but probably top end Championahip. Although he only has 1 promotion to his name to the PL, so even that's being generous to him because he's a legend here.

As Leicester City's stock and reputation dwindles with every poor performance and lousy result, it stands to reason that Rodgers' does too.

If he wants to be Man United manager next season (and if it was offered, he surely wouldn't turn it down), then he'll have to earn it by reversing our fortunes over the next six months.

It's sink or swim for both him and the club. The two are not interchangeable. I doubt it will get so bad that Top considers giving him the boot - that would only happen if (as with Ranieri) relegation becomes a genuine threat. For everyone's sake, let's hope it doesn't come to that.

There's no doubt we are in a slump.

The next two games are absolutely key to the season now to stop this turning into a repeat of Ranieri Season 2 and the Puel slide ending with the 1-4 defeat to Palace.

We need to beat Legia to hold any realistic chance of qualifying in the Europa and then beat Watford to halt the slide into the relegation zone.

Legia are poor in Poland this season and are already 2-0 down tonight at half-time so despite our current form we should have enough to beat them at home despite our recent rubbish.

It's about time Rodgers receives some overdue criticism and proper focus from the national press for our performances this season.

I think there is no way United will go for Rodgers. Their fans don't like the Liverpool connection and his stock has been on the slide in recent weeks. There are better options for United abroad. They'll make do with Carrick for a few weeks and then go for the bigger names to get them top 4. I don't think they were anticipating to get rid of Ole so soon but after yesterday they were forced to.

Manchester United problems have completely over shadowed us, the argument is there that we over achieved and we might be falling back to our natural level, whilst Ole is managing the biggest club in the country who have a net spend that competes with pep.  So yes they will get all the media focus.

Aren't Pearson, Shakespeare and Walsh all free agents now...

Pearson is manager at Bristol City

Shakespeare is assistant to Dean Smith at Norwich

Walsh is a special advisor at Charlotte FC in America (team that Fuchs joined)

Those failings were more to do with the Clubs failings and poor Owners not giving him the control needed to turn them around.

Don't forget to get to the Premiership took 3 or 4 years evolving the squad as we climbed the leagues.

As an Owner you have to have the vision and let him get on with it and he will deliver as he did here. Most Owners are short sighted.

A similar achievement was Rangers letting Gerrard get on with it when they brought him in as Manager. It took him a couple of seasons,

Now I can see him doing a similar job at Villa, God forbid.

Serious question would anyone take Pearson over Brendan now?

Una you're normally quite sensible. This not so mate.

If you/anyone wants us to go backwards then Pearson is your answer.

Those saying it on twitter, here and other social media platforms... get a grip.

Yeah I get that but he's not one for hitting the ground running since he's left us except for Watford he got a tune out of them straight the way. You have to have that now or you don't get very long to build.
