We lost any connection between defense and attack. As soon as he made that sub I knew what was to come. Also, what did he say at HT? Popular Post Dames Posted 23 December 2021 Popular Post Share Posted 23 December 2021 For me there have been 3 major consistent problems since Rodgers arrived that have shown little to no signs of improvement. 1. Mentality - Bar the FA Cup final every big game, advantageous position or massive points lead has been squandered whenever there has been the slightest bit of pressure on. The team nor the manager can cope when it gets tough or other teams put them under a bit of pressure. 2. Injury Management - In my whole time supporting the club i’ve never known so many key players to be out on a consistent basis. Even when you take into account freak injuries that can’t be predicted the management of injured players and how they are rushed back is very poor and handled in such an amateur way. Its been nearly 3 years, it cannot be used as an excuse anymore. 3. Style of play - Its horrible, its passive and it just doesn’t fit the players we have but Rodgers persists with it anyway. You can turn a blind eye when results are good but watching Leicester City consistently has become very tedious in recent years. None of the above looks like getting fixed any time soon and they have been consistent issues throughout Rodgers tenure. On top of the above 3 we now have one of the most frail defences in the league which combined with poor mentality is a potential recipe for complete disaster. For me, we need a change. The whole coaching set up including Rodgers. Subbed our best player on the night (again), kept the ageing striker on the pitch rather than the fresher one, totally surrendered the initiative which isn't solely injury forced. As for KDH unless a niggle or injury, crazy decision, except for last 4/5 games has barely had a sniff of action so should be one of the freshest, also given he is one of if not the fittest player in the squad not quite sure why he needed taking off. just one other point, how demoralising is it for the players if they are seeing 2 of the better players being sacrificed and our whole shape and momentum being changed, how frustrating must they feel when they are being instructed to play in a certain way and style that doesn’t work. you can see the energy and positivity in the side when we play high tempo, high intensity attacking football, you can also see how uncomfortable the players are when asked to play this negative, passive and defensive style, it reminds me so much of the last days of the Puel era, just release the shackles we are such a good side when we play on the front foot. I don’t know what has changed but in that first 12 months or so under Brendan we were ruthless, at 3-1 up at half time we would go on and score a 4th and a 5th but now after a scintillating 1st half we come out so passive and negative that is on him, we have seen this in our last 2 Cup matches and it has cost us big time and over the last 18 or so months giving away comfortable leads are becoming more and more of an issue. 4 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I had them both in the “Ghezzal” category before they’d even walked out in a blue shirt. In retrospect though that is actually unfair to Ghezzal, as at least he tried (looking at you Berty) and was not as terrible as either of the gruesome twosome.
