Brendan Rodgers

Mate he literally put up his fingers and mouthed 3-5-2 on minute 75. What more do you want to see to know his shit tactics are losing us points?

Tactics today - but generally this season has been derailed by too many injuries and games.

But you can understand the logic behind matching them up with 15 mins to go. They had 3 up top (2 and 1 behind) so our centre backs would have been dragged all over the place.

Kopfkino is on the money here.

Changing the system cost us the points, no question about that, but our hand is forced with so many injuries and players just coming back.

Let's be honest we are at the point where we just need to get through the season and rebuild / recoup in the summer.

Agreed but is Brendan the man for the rebuild? That’s the real question.

part of the reason Brendan did well at first was he did have that half season to transition the squad. All depends who is available though of course

These post match meltdowns have become a tad predictable and frankly a bit boring.

Do people not see that this season has been blighted by many things beyond our control?

im on your side on this 90% of the time and agree we have many things beyond our control that have made it hard for us but rodgers has to be held accountable at some point. he hasn't got to grips with seeing out games in nearly 3 seasons.

we've gone from leaking goals at the start of games to leaking goals at the end of games. he doesn't seem to be able to get the game plan right at both ends of a match - bit concerning from a guy heralded as one of the best managers going.

He's throwing games surely! Seriously though can't keep blaming injuries or lack of depth. It's not just the results it's the lack of entertainment,  poor inept football. just feel deflated, can't sack him, no one really any better out there we could get so he just gets away with it.

His mentality is seeping into the squad more and more every season, first we were bottling top 4, then we were bottling europa, now we're bottling the end of every game. Anyone who has faith in rodgers and thinks we're going to bounce back next season with our squad at full strength and more signings, what will more technical/smarter players change when the core of this team is weak as piss? At best it's just going to cover the cracks.

Tactically woeful and overpaid, but he wont be going this season. What I do wonder is half our team is injured, a quarter fit and the other quarter look completely mentally and physically ****ed despite us playing 2 times since December. Just wonder what goes on behind the scenes.

The injuries couldn’t have arrived at a better time for him. The pressure was really starting to build after the Southampton/Villa/Napoli fiascos. Now (fairly) lots of fans are saying that now is not the right time to judge but the reality is that we’re on a downwards trajectory and have been for months - injuries or no injuries.

Everyone else has injury and squad issues, not just us, so Rodgers can’t use that excuse anymore. Plus it is the mentality side that is really pi*sing a lot of us off. I don’t mind if we go down trying, but to constantly bottling the way we do is just unacceptable.

Yeah that's a fair question. IMO because he got the club consecutive 5th placed finishes and won the cup, he will be kept on. And for me it would be the right decision.

For all his faults it will be very hard to find a better manager than Rodgers. Ironically given the opposition today, Potter is probably the best candidate to replace him; British, good with young players, plays good football. But Potter has never won anything in Britain, whereas Rodgers has won things both North and South of the border.

In our hearts we want to be pushing top 4 again, of course we do. But look at the teams above us. Spurs went and got Conte, Arsenal spent tons this summer. Even West Ham have fallen off the pace a bit who had a good season like us last time round. Today we had KDH, Barnes and Thomas all playing for us that Rodgers has helped develop, and many of the new batch of players coming through look promising.

Missing out on the Champions League twice has probably meant that we've missed the chance to long term replace Spurs and Arsenal in the top 4 race each season. That really hurts, but this division is so competitive and those teams can afford to throw money around like it's nothing. We can't do things like Spurs can where they can pay a manager 14m to sack him and then replace him with an even more expensive one in Conte. Or spend 150m on talent like Arsenal in the summer. You've got to be careful for what you wish for.

All that said, it's been a poor season. Injuries have hurt, but the defence has been poor throughout. At least you could say the attack has been generally good, and Patson Daka answers the pressing question of "what do Leicester do when Vardy is too old?"

He made some bad calls today.

I don't think that subbing Barnes for Albrighton was the wrong call in itself but going 5 at the back was. Thomas who was having a good game was isolated against Lamptey and sometimes 2 on 1 because no one was doubling down with him. Had he made that sub but kept the same formation which was doing OK, but moved Lookman to the left to help out Thomas, I don't think we would have been anywhere near as exposed.

Then ofcourse he took Lookman of completely who was one of the only players able to carry the ball and relieve some pressure for the backline and replaced him with Soumare. Which was weird because it flooded the centre of the pitch which hadn't been an issue, the problems where out wide so he didn't or couldn't really have an affect.

I think the lads were really hard done by Rodgers today. The defence especially who weren't having a bad game but when you invite that much pressure, you're always going to conceed.

Someone observed prior to the game that we lacked an attacking threat from the bench which is true. Brighton on the other hand introduced Lamptey and Welbeck which not only stretched our defence (particularly on the left) but was something that we couldn't replicate, yet bewilderingly, nonetheless, stubbornly tried to match their formation.

I was astonished, that Brendan then took off Barnes and given the double substitution from Brighton, later Lookman. Although Madders was pushed up tighter on Daka, he was stranded up front exacerbating the fact that he lacks the required physicality in his current role as a lone striker. We then found ourselves sat in, hoping to hit them on the counter with Daka marooned and our remaining pace through Justin negated by the huge pressure from inviting them on to us.

Obviously, without our injuries and absences it would have been a different story. But in spite of the circumstances and mistakes on the field, questionable tactics have cost us six points in the last five days.

Id like him gone somehow. However he doesn’t deserve the pay-off.

Get it done mutually or hopefully someone takes him and his staff off us.

We barely deserve to be where we are in the league. We have been lucky on occasion and outplayed in almost every game this season.

Grateful for the FA Cup but we’ve been below the some of our parts for a year now. The mentality is shocking, bottling top four like we did, twice as well as I underperforming in Europe, twice.

Get someone like Jesse Marsch in with a proper DofF above. A strategy. Play vertically and get the team pressing again.

It’s crucial we get it right now with the expansion coming.

If it means limping till the end of the season with him then so be it.

Regardless I’m expecting a Semi/final in the Europa Conference this season.

You do realise that that’ll involve Rodgers winning a European knockout game right ?
