We're bloody lucky to be where we are in the league and even compared to how we played over the whole season, lucky to have 2 5th place finishes to some extent. He's done good work but these are good players. Injuries or not, we should be doing better. The fact that even in this shocking team displays, there's plenty of players who have decent games which tells you that it's all down to the organisation of the team, which comes from the manager. Also, if he believes the final paragraph then what does that say about his management? Either lost the dressing room or not got the managerial nous to motivate/stretch that. Part of the genius of Fergie was that he'd constantly change his assistants so the players had a new voice and new ideas. Well if they were say players who play in the defence unit, there is very little scope for change presently. Maybe he has finally accepted some players have done as much as they can here, but they are still sh*te. We cannot play alternatives currently as the rest of the good players are broken. I'm sure Brendan would love to be able to play better players, but unfortunately they're not available to him. It's got to a point where whatever he does is interpreted is a slight against someone, covering his own arse, throwing somebody under a bus, egotism , lack of confidence. Re-signing Mendy, plays him consistently then doesn't even give him a squad number. The Praet situation. Ignoring Iheanacho when he pretty much rescued us last season. The whole Benkovic farce. You’ve made a massive deal out of it not me. Brendan is the one that has said it. So all I’ve said is that if that’s case, don’t play them.
