Brendan Rodgers

Kelechi might have a knock, to risk Daka for 20 minutes and pick up an injury would possibly leave us with no forwards….we were the better side for the first half should have been 2 up….they changed the way they set up and it was a stalemate. Can’t think of anyone who wasn’t decent tonight, Albrighton struggled and we looked tired last 20. Wouldn’t write us off yet….interesting nobody on here mentions defensively we have improved, and set pieces are no longer the hot topic they once were…

Tielemans wasn't decent.

Barnes wasn't decent.

Iheanacho wasn't decent.

Lookman wasn't decent.

All the others were decent.

Wrong move, I don’t think Rodgers trusts Daka though. Daka has been really struggling lately and his first touch is terrible.

Yep. Daka can't play with his back to goal and hold the ball up which is what is needed against a team playing as deep as PSV were tonight.

Nacho can play that role and he tried Lookman in it tonight which didn't work.

Needed to be braver but that's not in Brendan's DNA. Poor finishing yes, but when you only create two clear cut chances at home in a European quarter final against a team that is suspect defensively you will end up surrendering the initiative in the tie. As for Rodgers' substitutions...?

....Daka seems like a player who will force his own game!!!

He will try too hard and each game becomes another chance for him to fail. He has a raw quality which needs to be honed and his eagerness to impress curtailed. You would expect him to be the one upfront on Sunday, but I would not be surprised if Nacho gets the nod again.

Possession football is not a way that helps his game, and a team playing either on the counter or very direct would suit him well.

Brendan does seem to have a higher percentage of players he's 'not to keen on' or 'doesn't rate him anymore' or fallen out of favor with than normal. With many that are new signings or loans to the club.

What's the issue?

Praet

Soumare

Daka

Vestergaard

Under (who doing great at Marseille)

Perez

Iheanacho (before Vardy got injured)

Let's just stick to buying UK players than.....in the Championship

I’m glad he has! We need a clear out and some better standard players.

He might be perfect for the away leg...

What had Iheanacho actually done? Does anyone think he was on the brink of scoring? Taking him off didn't seem a terrible mistake to me.

People were saying the same thing on Saturday away against Man U. Done nothing,  "tik im off", scores 5 minutes later and MotD run a segment that night drooling over his performance.

He dropped deep, linked up play with tidy feet and strength while being a strong runner. Barnes hitting the bar came from him being a one-two to play off, our other main chance was his run through. All he needs is a one moment for a goal, his rating immediately goes from a 5/10 to an 8, such is life as a striker.

If he was tired, saving him whatever fair enough but those 15 minutes after taking Kels off playing with no striker was a glaring tactical fault. Its not even like a front 3 of Albrighton/Lookman/Barnes were alternating up top, Ade had been sent on to be another attacking midfielder, we had no striker on while chasing the lead at home! It was absolutely bizarre.

Stranger yet PSV did the exact same thing taking Zahavi off for Doan, their striker for an attacking mid. Dutch fans questioning their decision too.

I don’t get why Kelechi is playing so much because at the moment he is not in good form at all- anyone know what Rodgers has against Lookman?

Was 1 of the best players on pitch

don’t get why Brendon took him off

The results have turned but the criticisms of rodgers remain the same. Too many baffling decisions, why did he take off iheanacho just to play lookman out of position up front? resulted in 15 wasted minutes when iheanacho was linking up the play effectively beforehand. Why has barnes played 90 minutes? Actually why is he nailed on every game despite having a poor season? We've benched maddison/pushed him out onto the right wing and benched iheanacho/daka just to a accommodate a player who has had 1 good month out of 8. Why is justin played at right back and castagne at left back when they both perform better at opposite sides of the pitch? I just dont understand his thought process.

Spot on

Thought Kel dropped off really well, and brought midfielders into the game, should have scored. Is our second choice centre forward,Vardy would have taken that chance.

Barnes not at his best, but if his shot that hit the bar goes in, he would get all the headlines….

Tielemans playing a more defensive role, with no Wilf, Mendy, and as a defensive midfielder we keep a clean sheet….decent against a side second in the Dutch league.

Lookman got 20 minutes

The opposition are a well organised long experienced European competiton,

Finally, take those four out who would you play in their place.Daka I can understand (He will probably start Sunday) the others?

I'll feel a lot better when he's gone, with his tippy tappy over  playing non penetrating shite football, 3000 passes a game 5 shots. 25 passes within a 5 yards then to pass it back to the defenders and start all over again.

We can't have it both ways as fans, people have been accusing him of running players in the ground.

Nacho played 90 minutes at Man U, then 70 mins vs PSV, and is more than likely going to play most of the games against Palace and PSV away.

That's 4 games in 10 days
