With our resources. Now most are back and playing. I will never accept that it's an issue with 'the squad'. My view is that Brendan simply doesn't maximise what we have by virtue of his selections and tactics. I have no doubt that Brand Brendon's PR machine will find the failure to fire routed in some alternative realm. But for me, he is a truculent and narrow minded fella who sticks to his guns. Even when it's simply not working. That trait has never endeared him to me.

You have to take into consideration that most players are back from injury, however they still have to get back to full fitnes,

I actually think we played some good football away at Newcastle and Everton but we were diabolical today.

At the end of the day, 2 points from Newcastle, Everton and Villa is not a good return, especially with what is a very strong squad that many premier league clubs would kill for.

I really think he needs that Europa Conference title.

Ja…but maybe we aren’t really as good as we the FT-fans believe we are & should be…Tiredness, youth, lack of experience, can’t be used over one half seasons, one expects after that time ,even with chronic injuries, one thinks under a manager

Earning casino-winning Las Vegas wages. The fans start to see such a manager,s

players translating his loyalties, and the manager getting the players mental-discipline onto a balanced keel..Over The last 5-7 league games, where one would expect little steps forward…We really haven’t held any group of decent performances together as a team..to help show fans, the last 12 months consistent mishit games were a thing to file into the past.

I have defended Rodgers, and individual players, but they have got to show the terraces, they want to wear & earn that Leicester shirt & the tie together.

.Again the terraces will take the odd slipped results , but not high  lack of just decent performances & expect that certain consistence in mental strengths & basic skills, for the better potential & wages that is being

projected on their behalf…Worse Leicester Squads have given more..longer.

But..the Bbone of this squad & Rodgers, get this one carte-Blanche of a season, the negatives of not hitting ´ expected´ but not OTT levels in performances, can’t

race into November next season…I hope Rodgers is just protecting ´ his boysˋ,

and not believing deep down, that he isn’t really disappointed, on how their all round team game, even with those major injuries is still well below average on too many game days..

One who might believe that fans pay to see a side display attacking intent, and encourages the freedom to display flair by playing players in positions that suit their best attributes? One who thinks that the best use of the club's money is not to spunk it on hopeless defenders?

I don't know, maybe I'm just an irrational idealist who stupidly reckons the money charged for a ticket ought to equate to some enjoyment on matchday.

Derby went down to rapturous applause. The fans engaged with their desire to attempt to do something, to affect change on the pitch. Feck I miss following a side that does that.

Derby just went down to league one, where they will be playing morecambe, Fleetwood, Burton etc.

we won an fa cup final 11 months ago. We are playing in a semi final against the mighty AS Roma in 5 days time and I'm off to the stadio olmpico to watch City in front of 72,000 screaming Romans in 11 days.

Maybe you should take your hard earned cash and go down Pride Park (if they are still in business). And see how much creative freedom and Flair you see down there in league 1!

Jesus some perspective people.

A manager who wants to challenge himself in the top league in the world with incredible ownership, fans and a talented side. Plus, the ability to remake the squad in their vision this summer.

We are not the club we were 10 years ago anymore.

You've made a lot of assumptions there. Remaking the squad won't be tons of investment, it'll be selling some talented players.

That's an incredible analogy. You'd rather have what Derby had than be a fan of a team that's won 2 trophies in the last 12 months and is in a european semi? I met a Derby fan on the train today, he didn't seem to think it's been that fun this season.

Ok yes we could and I accept there are once in a blue moon exceptions but just look at every league in the world and tell me if statistically the teams that spend the most aren’t sat within the top positions of that league every season 🤷‍♂️

....isn't that what life is all about, to aspire to achieve the best that you can!!!

If we held the attitude that United and all the big teams had the money and would be winning everything, why work to get out of the Championship, what was the point. Why is there a league of teams playing 38 games a season, why bother if the rich teams are going to be the only ones walking off with the trophies. Why bother getting out of bed!!!

I've read it and I don't get how that answers it. You compared our situation to derby's - who have no expectation, we have crazy high expectations, partly due to a manager who's guided us yo success but when it's reverted to the mean, certain fans are blaming him rather than showing any understanding to the wider context.

I’ve given up trying to understand the philosophy for a few months now. Someone who buys into it. Why does he now persist to stick Maddison, one of the most inform players in the league out on the right with this “double pivot” nonsense. Surely with an impact explosive striker in the middle you want your most creative player doing damage in the centre of the pitch which just so happens to be their most productive area ? Also, when he moved Madders central against PSV didn’t his impact increase and subsequently led to our win ? Or did I imagine that ? Someone explain why - genuine question.

ive given up trying to understand the thinking behind our inability to defend corners and/or leads. It’s too much elite genius for me.

I would prefer if we are going to make 5-6 signings in the summer that Brendan (if still in charge) has minimal input in to who we sign. If he can identify the sort of player he wants then let the club do the rest.

Really worried based on last summers activity that if he has lots of input it would go wrong.

No I didn't. I gave an example of how a side that tries to win elicits support from a fan base that enjoyed the process regardless of ultimate outcome.

The ambitious goal of our owners has been to establish LCFC as a team that is regularly involved in European competition. Sadly, for those who favour feelings and opinions above facts, across Europe, the teams that regularly qualify for European competition also happen to be towards the top of the possession stats in their leagues. Put another way, a team’s ability to hold on to the ball is likely to have a significant impact on their *long term* European success.

For this reason, I am guessing the club’s management has decided that the goal - which has already defeated Ranieri, Shakespeare and Puel - is to transition the club from a counterattacking, possession-lite team to a possession-heavy, goal-scoring squad. Perhaps unsurprisingly, we are finding the latter part the biggest challenge. The simple fact is that it’s hard to find players with the technical ability to control and move the ball accurately with speed that we can afford….and then keep them.

Brendan may not be able to get us where we want to go. However, whoever replaces him will, I suspect, face exactly the same challenge. Our only hope in achieving that goal may well be managing to find the Jürgen Klopp of the 2020s….a young, inspiring manager who wants to show his prowess by becoming a club legend and, in this case, one who wouldn’t be tempted away by a bigger budget after two years of success. If anyone’s got any suggestions, I’d be happy to hear them.

In the meantime, I’ll make do with a European semi-final and an injury-ravaged 10th place in the EPL for this year, given that for half of the time that I’ve watched City they have been in the second and third tiers of English football.

Brendon Rodgers is a top manager.

A statement backed up by?....... Newspapers and pundits!

Top managers get the best out of seemingly average players and make good players look like superstars.

They also turn failure into success, the stand out is Eddie Howe,  he would have come here in a heartbeat and we would quite possibly be sitting in a europa league semi and in a European qualifying spot.

We do not have such a manager.

Our man is vastly over rated in all departments and should move on.

We are a progressive ambitious club and we can and will attract talented candidates for the job.

And although l detest the man I fear that Mourinho will shortly be showing what a proven winner can achieve against an average team under a less than average manager.

Hang on a minute what was the "entire point of your post" then?

As far as I can make out it was a lot of moaning about the lack of creative freedom and Flair then some more moaning about recruitment, then some more moaning about value for money then a final very random/deranged point about how good Derby fans have got it.

The fact i wasnt the only poster to get the wrong end of the stick in your eyes would suggest the problem lies with the post not our interpretation of it!

Whilst I agree entirely, the problem is, if he doesn't pick them, the chances are their cards will be marked and unlikely to get a good chance to prove themselves.

I don’t believe anyone is saying we should roll over, wasn’t the OP about how hard it is within our budget and then all it was was proof that statistically that’s right with he who spends the most wins the most.

I mentioned posters happy enough to quote xG which is pretty pointless at our level but over look a glaring stat of net spend and how that affects every club.

Yup.  If the club brings in guys he doesn't hand-pick he'll Siberia them just to prove a point.
