Popular Post tetly Posted 10 August 2022 Popular Post Share Posted 10 August 2022 His job remit would have been something like. 1 Train motivate and improve our talented young squad. 2 Phase out some of the older players but replace them well. 3 Dare to dream big and achieve we proved it’s not impossible. 4 Play with a identity we enjoy watching attacking aggressive football. Our way fearless having a go till the last second. In reality he had us playing some amazing football for the first 2/3 of the first season. However his abysmal January transfer’s and shocking form saw us miss out on cl footbal on the last day. We managed to blow a lead that was almost impossible to blow, so it has to look like a failure. Similar situation the following season league wise. Credit where credit’s due we won the fa cup and charity shield. Our European games under him we haven’t done ourselves justice some poor performances. We should have beaten villa a couple of years ago in the league cup. We have just had the worst injuries at the club ever, poor game management burning some players out, bad squad management. The worst set piece record in the football league last season. Excuse after excuse our set piece problem was the wrong profile of players available. We have overachieved, The squad need a refresh etc etc. The football has become slow and ponderous his signings most of them are rubbish. Time for him to take a good look at himself and make the necessary adjustments. But he sounds downbeat to me in all his public pronouncements now. Like he doesn't really know where he's going with us, and that worries me, as that will seep into the squad. He has done all he can and has nothing more to offer. Every week we see the same old bkind spots and midtsjes from him. Every week. A good manager would adaot his ideas.... thst not brendan. I personally found the slow pondering build up play, the passing around sidways and backwards not all that entertaining. Perhaps Watford would only take the loan with an option to buy and we didn’t want to have him go for nowt in a year. Many of those goals were scored following individual moments of genius by one of our better players. That's not always going to happen and is a very weak foundation compared to a well organised team playing to their strengths.
