Hamza Choudhury

Shocks me that people think he isn't....

Why is that? I need to hear some reasoned logic or evidence as I don't understand in what world the man is earning 60 bags a week lol

If Amartey is given consistent game time for a Premier League club, they'd want £15m. He's had spells in our side where he's done genuinely well. I especially thought he was good when playing as a 3rd CB in a back 3 for us.

Loan them out and see how they get on. They've both done reasonably well when given the odd chance here and there and I imagine they'd both love to go and prove their worth. At the end of the day, Hamza is a youth product and Amartey cost pretty much pennies. They've got potential to bring in 30m between them fairly easily i'd have thought.

I'm just going to respectively disagree and leave it at that.

Amartey has never been better than adequate, Choudhury has never kicked on and well down the pecking order. Amartey will be 27 and Choudhury 24 this year. At some point you have to say you've seen enough over the years that you can't cling on to any fading hope that somehow either will turn it round and become a genuine first team player here rather than back up. If you get a decent cash offer for players of these profiles then sell IMO.

I think we both agree on that. We just disagree with the number.

£10m would be good business for Newcastle. We're not in a position where we need to sell him that cheaply. Just loan him and see how he does.

It may seem crazy but our players wages bill is over 90 mill in a year, and even that is way behind the likes of Man. U , Chelsea and Man.City. It is what it is, and it locks players in because those outside the top echelon cannot match our wages. Hamza would instantly be one of Newcastle's top earners if he went there.

I would be surprised if he is on much more than £10,000 a week. Lots of Newcastle players on 40 plus a week.

Think about it , you sit on the bench next to Mendy who gets five times as much as you, to do roughly the same job. You would soon have a very unsatisfied squad if that applied. Hamza may well be overpaid, although he earns far less than some , but squad cohesion demands salaries that keep players happy.

I have seen that list and if you believe it , Youri is currently earning just above a quarter of Maddison's pay. Once again our salary bill is over 90 million and its easy to work out the average pay from that. We have the seventh highest paid players in the premiership and to be honest if we are going to maintain top six status that is going to have to increase considerably.

We didn't sign a £32m player from a Russian-backed club in a tax haven to pay him less than a large proportion of the Championship.

The vast majority of those numbers are way, way out. Barnes has an England cap and people genuinely believe he's on 10k? Utter nonsense

So basically parts of this is made up crap.....

This seems a lot more accurate based on the overall number.

They're plucked out someone's arse.

Are we to believe Fofana who signed for nearly £30m is on 50k a week whilst a lad from the academy who had played 17 games in two seasons and has never been more than a squad player here is on 60k a week?

Academy players usually get a rougher deal than signed players and Choudhury would have had little leverage when signing his first big contract. To take that as gospel and think that Fofana had less leverage in contract talks than Choudhury is preposterous.

Not saying every detail is accurate more that it would match our total so broadly right.

Im really enjoying people wanting to believe one set of numbers that's wholly inaccurate vs another set of number that are slightly inaccurate.

Fofana was on nothing at ASSE so might not be on that much.

With a must play clause

I still don't believe this. We dropped him for a long period last year. I cannot see how that would come into force.
