PSV Eindhoven Technical Director Clear On Leeds And Leicester Targeted Teen Talent

PSV Eindhoven technical director John de Jong has ruled out selling Leeds United and Leicester City linked teenager Noni Madueke this summer.

Previously having been on the books at Tottenham Hotspur, Madueke joined the PSV academy in 2018 and has progressed to cement his place in the first-team squad.

The England Under-21 international has scored seven goals and registered six assists in 27 Eredivisie appearances this season and now being tracked by clubs in England and Germany.

Leeds and Leicester are interested in taking him back to England this summer and Borussia Dortmund are believed to be tracking him as the potential long-term replacement for Jadon Sancho.

De Jong believes there is a lot more to come from attacking midfielder Madueke after he surpassed expectations this season.

And he insisted that PSV will not be entertaining the thought of selling him this summer.

“He is a fantastic boy with a lot of potential, who has already had a lot of return for his age”, De Jong told Dutch daily De Telegraaf.

“And we want to see him shine here next season.

“Is there noise around him? I am here to remove it.”

A regular in the England youth set-up, Madueke may want to return to his homeland at some point in his career.

Wonder if there's a class that technical directors take to learn to talk shite. Looking forward to the drama if we really are in for him.

Wherever he goes, he wants to be playing regular first team football, Dortmund are interested

PSV Technical Director said €20m would not be enough to get him, however should a team bid more than that, it is possible the PSV board may get involved

https://www.vi.nl/nieuws/belangstelling-of-niet-psv-hoopt-madueke-in-eindhoven-te-zien-schitteren

Interested or not: PSV hopes to see Madueke shine in Eindhoven

Noni Madueke is closely followed by Borussia Dortmund. Despite the interest: PSV has in principle taken the position that the young attacker does not want to go. The coming weeks should show whether the situation of the English youth international changes.

The player and his management are clear: Madueke must play for his development next season. Although the nineteen-year-old attacker was able to provide impressive numbers of goals and assists given his playing time last season, Schmidt regularly chose others. It ensures that Madueke quickly wants to know how the flag is for the coming season. If that view of a starting position is too murky in his eyes, the Englishman will want to continue his development elsewhere.

Just like last year in preparation, the great talent shot out of the starting blocks in the run-up to the important European competitions. Against the Belgian second division team RWD Molenbeek ( 6-2 ), Madueke scored twice, gave two assists and underlined his enormous potential with a number of flashy actions.

To say that his qualities and his potential are known among the top European clubs is an understatement. Dortmund in particular sees Madueke as a major candidate to succeed Jadon Sancho . Last week, his father and agent were clearly visible in a photo when they visited the German top club. Madueke, who was taken over from Tottenham Hotspur in 2018, is still with PSV until mid-2024.

PSV has already stated at an early stage that it will not let Madueke go. Technical director John de Jong wants to see the attacker 'first shine in PSV 1' and he is not impressed with an amount of twenty million euros for Madueke. But if a few million more are added to that, the question is what the PSV supervisory board will do. However, it still seems a matter of time before Dortmund reports in Eindhoven.

Assist tonight for PSV's 2nd goal in their 5-1 win

...just listening to the commentator (or at least I think it was) nothing that he was saying was aligned with what was going on on the pitch!!!

You get the impression he was talking to his missus, as he had got the shopping wrong again, and claiming if she wanted HP Sauce she should have said so!!!

I'd absolutely love him here, he's like Fofana in that he's barely played but you just know he's going to be phenomenal.

I've only seen the obligatory YouTube clips and he looks a real prospect. But given his few starts for PSV, is he ready to start at RW for us in 30+ PL games next season, and be (I'll settle for) almost as good for us as Harvey on the left @Ric Flair?

Pay it

Im sure we will if Rudkin, Congerton etc think he's worth it. We moved heaven and earth to get Fofana so if they see him in the same mould then they will get him. Possibly depends on us freeing some funds up from selling some fringe players.

Wonder how someone like Sowah would have do, playing the same amount of games for a good PSV side.

I hope he's given game time even if we get a RW in.

Sometimes its easy to look far a field for a solution when you can have one under your nosey.

Would Barnes be were he is now if we had'nt been short of LW options?

Chilwell sale bought Fofana and payed for most of Casteigne. Looking very likely we need to sell an asset to fund a purchase like this. Time is passing and given how protracted deals can be , the window will be shut before we know it.
