Even if they had lost tonight, it would still have been in their hands. Maybe there should be a tradition started now whereby fans invade the pitch once they are mathematically safe from relegation. So the likes of Man City and Liverpool can have their pick invasions in January and as the teams below them reach safety one by one they can invade the pitch as well. I agree, they shouldn't be celebrating this like its a great success story, but you understand where they are coming from, they were so cut adrift a few weeks back and it looked grim. It's strange, Everton have a reputation for having shit fans but they have really come behind the team in adversity. Just goes to show what constant underachievement and having nothing to play for season after season does to you. Maybe we should be careful what we wish for with wanting to be a stable mid table side... Or maybe that's just the reality of the glass ceiling in this league... Don't know anyway it's interesting to see.

Finishing 16th is a massive **** up on their behalf. That's behind Palace, Brighton, Brentford, Villa, Newcastle Southampton, with the players they all have... Come on. Being a stable mid table team doesnt necessarily mean underachieving either.

All those teams you mention have players that would walk into Everton's team and theyd immediately be miles better. You take out Demarai Gray whos useless and you put Wilfred Zaha or Saint Maximin in, the team becomes miles better already. You take out Coleman and you put in Trippier or Lamptey, they become miles better. Same at centre back. Could have Mark Guehi for example. Likewise, they let Digne go who was at least decent. Up front they could have Watkins and Ings with Coutinho making chances for them. Its only my opinion but Everton's team is massively, massively ****ed, and totally useless, and i stand by that. Fear Of The Fox Posted 19 May 2022 Share Posted 19 May 2022 Regarding the pitch invasions, it's simple: - 6 points for Everton and Forest next season. 5 home games behind closed doors. Both teams are liable. Fair punishment for the clubs and the fans.

Popular Post TamworthFoxes Posted 19 May 2022 Popular Post Share Posted 19 May 2022 Letting Everton have 4 points off us is up there with the Forest debacle, the Spurs at home debacle, losing in the cup to Liverpools 3rd team and getting knocked out of two European competitions in one season with an absolute whimper, in terms of lows which makes this season an absolute disaster. That’s without mentioning the continual shit show of defending corners. 8
splinterdream Posted 19 May 2022 Share Posted 19 May 2022 Pitch invasions are fantastic for those truly momentous occasions, when fans celebrate with the players and staff, however winning a semi in the play-offs or surviving relegation with a game to go isn’t one of them. The stupid thugs have ruined this spectacle as now I expect tougher penalties so it’s something we may never see again
Popular Post BenTheFox Posted 19 May 2022 Popular Post Share Posted 19 May 2022 Some real miserable bastards on here. Of course you can understand Everton fans celebrating survival. They've had a horrendous season and relegation would have been a disaster for them with their financial issues. They may never have come back if they went down. It's relief as much as anything.

Winning the champions league is a truly momentous occasion, no one runs onto the pitch then. Winning the world cup is momentous, fans of that nation dont pile on. There wasnt a giant pitch invasion when Aguero scored. Fans in this country run on to celebrate piddling non achievements like winning/getting into the playoffs in minor leagues, or just any excuse to be small time thugs.

Pitch invasions are dangerous as there is absolutely no control of a huge crowd. There were already 2 in the space of 48h and both resulted to assaults. On the video posted there is a 6yr old boy running around with no sight of his guardian. This is mental.
kingkisnorbo Posted 19 May 2022 Share Posted 19 May 2022 Everton are just too much of a rotten apple in my opinion. They’re run by lunatics with one of the worst transfer records I have ever seen. I’d still be bricking it if I was an Evertonian next season. Lampard will be gone by Christmas.
