It means it will go to court. The prosecution are accusing him of being guilty and as he’s been charged it will be up to the court to decide (if he pleads not guilty).  He’s still innocent until proven guilty in the eyes of the law and insisting anything otherwise is illegal under the contempt of court act.    Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

fox_up_north Posted 26 August 2021 Share Posted 26 August 2021 Charging is generally CPS believe that threshold has been met to pursue a conviction. In rape cases, which have a shockingly low conviction rate, that's pretty big. Arrested on suspicion - just means that there's been an allegation and you will be questioned. You can be released without charge or pending further investigation. You can be arrested for all sorts and it's not a stain on your record, unless you accept a caution (accept being the key word) or are charged and sentenced.  But it looks like they've gone straight to it. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
