Palace fans sing.

On special occasions, when they're winning, when things are doing well, same as everyone else.

They're the most over rated fan base in the country, largely hyped up by their own self promotion. On an average Saturday 3pm kick off against some other mid table side in a boring game you can hear a pin drop at Selhurst, especially if they're losing. Just like anywhere else.

Today they're beating London rivals for the first time in six years on a sunny afternoon, early in the season, freshly back after a long covid break, playing half decent football and their new striker is on the score sheet. Of course they're going to sing.

Good finisher that's for sure. Reminds me of Iheanacho with that first goal.

Got a couple of slight ricochets through defenders legs but did well to stop it and hit it. Couldn't miss with the second.

Some observations so far:

1. Brentford might be this season's Brighton. They should be doing much better than their expected goals. Shows the importance of having good strikers

2. Home advantage is coming back, will be interesting to see whether it's as pronounced as it was before the pandemic

3. I think Palace will be unpredictable this season but they'll finish around mid-table. They've done really well in difficult circumstances - you can question their management for allowing them to get into the position of so many players leaving but they've bought well and seem to be playing a more attractive style. They also may have found a decent striker as well. With so many young players and their defence not as strong, they may not be consistent but they'll have a decent season overall.

The Ronaldo reaction is predictable but is today anything we didn't expect? A man with goalscoring records all over the place, you'd expect him to score against a bottom half team with a crap manager at home.

Solskjaer has done a superb job in playing Man United and the expectations down. They should be pushing seriously close for all the trophies.
