Hoopla10 Posted 22 October 2021 Share Posted 22 October 2021 I'm sort of confused by the Newcastle manager talk. These guys ambition is to win the league and get into CL football in the next 5-8 years (minimum). It's not a little project. They have more money than god. They obviously can't jump at the top tier managers, your Klopps and Peps but they'll look at the next tier down. And while I was a big fan of Steve Howe you don't put this sort of early ambitious roadmap build onto somebody like that. Within the next few windows they'll be dropping 100s of millions on new players. You get a good worn in manager with a precise idea what he needs, knows the ropes and football stars. As for the sympathy for Steve Bruce. He's clearly a really nice guy but oh god he never helped himself. His interviews (basically the small feed back fans got from their manager) were awful, He'd lie, he'd say the team played well when they clearly didn't, he'd constantly blame other people, he'd play the victim... but a couple of big problems is that unlike Raffa he didn't make it feel like it was HIM and the FANS vs Ashley. The fans spotted his appointment as a cheap Ashley yes man (like so many of their managers before) and he never really changed that. Managing Sunderland was a massive no no in wanting to bridge a link to the fans, especially under such hard situation. Before taking the gig he supposedly spoke to Shearer who warned him away and in all honesty it didn't need Shearer to say it tbh. And IMO he should have been a tad more self aware of his lack of managerial ability to think he could do much for the club.

MalletFox Posted 22 October 2021 Share Posted 22 October 2021 Pawson manages to brandish a yellow card in the first minute of the Arsenal vs Villa game, wonder if he’s trying to make up for not doing last week against Matic. What an incompetent official he really is!

Popular Post orangecity23 Posted 22 October 2021 Popular Post Share Posted 22 October 2021 (edited) So, when we play Brighton, Vestergard gets armlocked but the VAR can't be ****ed to look at it for more than 5 seconds and let the decision stand. Arsenal have a marginal penalty shout, spend minutes looking at the ****er and restart the first half so they can take it. Clear and obvious error is a stupid "rule", as it's clearly not a rule at all, just completely arbitrary. And that means the big clubs get more decisions, because no VAR official wants to miss a decision that should favour a big 6 team if Spit the Dog, Gary Neville and friends are going to spend 20 minutes slobbering all over slow motion replays to see if they can possibly justify those poor, poor super league clubs getting everything awarded to them, because, bless the poor ****ers, they barely have enough of an advantage at present with their billion pound squads. st albans fox Posted 22 October 2021 Share Posted 22 October 2021 Carragher doesn’t understand the protocols either. The broadcasters are so ignorant it doesn’t matter that you think it’s a penalty - the referee didn’t give it so unless 99% of us are of the opinion it’s a pen then the var stays shtum. It’s isnt an obvious mistake by the ref. So annoying. The gooners will say it’s payback from Monday night when MacArthur wasn’t sent off by var intervention for kicking saka.
