That's the part on here that people are overlooking. In recent years the old firm have generally struggled in Europe, so making it to the final eight was quite an achievement!

What some on here are overlooking is the fact that the EPL will now be his bread and butter not a few bygone Europa League matches!!

Is anyone disagreeing with that? Rangers still went unbeaten in the league last season under his stewardship.

The league is always bread and butter, doesn't matter what country or level, because it's all about consistency.

Nobody has said otherwise. Rangers were so good in the league last season.

Don’t get whole ffp, that mean we could spend £79 mill and be okay?

Kind of, you can spend that much but you don’t really want to otherwise you get close to what is happening to Everton

'We call these figures FFP 'wiggle room' because it is the amount clubs could spend overall before they hit the FFP limit,' explained Maguire. 'The limit is not a target, it is an allowable loss, and has to be funded by owners.'

Worrying that Newcastle can go out and spend 150m and still be fine.  Relegating them should be every clubs objective haha

it still comes down to the question of which top players would risk going to a club who are in such danger of relegation. Maybe they could get in enough quality to keep them up, but it's not going to be anything more significant than that at this stage.

The answer is plenty. Money is the number 1 motivator. They may not bring in champions league or other premier league players but they will attract some top talent from outside of england.  You just have to look at some of the great players that went to China... it says it all really.

Need to remember the quality of their current squad though, majority apart from a few are very much Championship quality players, need to spend a fair bit just to get it up to mid table/scraping top half standard

I would never trust Eddie Howe with that much either, Liverpool in for a big pay day with his track record

Yeah, but a disparate group of mercenaries don't necessarily make for a good team.

I think there's a good chance they'll drop to the Championship.

Interesting that, wonder what's happened there.

Presumably both parties have come to their senses.

The last thing Norwich need is a “name” and the last thing Lampard needs is a relegation on his CV. Another higher profile club will come along and appoint him in the next 6 months because they want a big name. Slightly worried it will be us.

Exactly, me and you regularly pointed out that Villa had spent over £250m before the end of last season!! Nuts

Exactly, Norwich either go for a name to try and miracle a survival or someone to come and rebuild them for a championship campaign. Dean Smith probably isn't a bad shout.

Not sure where Lampard goes next, either mid table club or like you said a random top 6

Thats a very good shout, it just seems a bit too soon.
