Premier League 2021/22 Thread

The league is always bread and butter, doesn't matter what country or level, because it's all about consistency.

Nobody has said otherwise. Rangers were so good in the league last season.

Agreed Rangers were good in their league last season under Gerrard, however, the EPL is a far different task and I doubt he will be able to replica that success here.

Exactly, Norwich either go for a name to try and miracle a survival or someone to come and rebuild them for a championship campaign. Dean Smith probably isn't a bad shout.

Not sure where Lampard goes next, either mid table club or like you said a random top 6

He´ll replace Howe in 4 months when Toon are still in deep shit.....

Just shows the whole FFP logic is flawed. How can Liverpool, Man U, Chelsea and Arsenal be allowed to spend that much extra on top of what they already do? No such thing as Fair Play in FFP.

That’s the maximum allowable loss I think. Just because they can make a loss of £200m without a fine - it doesn’t mean they’ll want to.

Thing is that's probably the total opposite of what they'd want or need.

Lampard did a decent job at Derby, decent job at Chelsea in his first season when they couldn't sign anyone then in his 2nd season when they started spending, increasing their squad, having to rotate players to keep them happy and egos were bought in he didn't seem to be able to handle it.

Norwich, presently, aren't going to have a lot of choice. Any manager won't have unlimited funds to spend either. Smith has kept a team up and also been promoted.

Doesn't that FFP Wriggle room imply that Daniel Levy really is an evil genius after all?

No, it implies that they've not been spending.

Just because FFP allows you to spend it it doesn't mean your business has those resources. They're skint, they've spuffed shit loads on a stadium.

Exactly £1billion on a stadium and already had debts of apparently £700 million before that, as you said just because they are allowed to spend £400 million doesn’t meant they are able to, seems the only team that possibly have to take action is Everton

My best mate is a Norwich fan and he's pretty happy about it. Tbh though he's only happy because it means Lampard and his PR circus won't be rolling into town.

Starting to hear a lot of noise around west ham 'doing a leicester'. as good as they are right now i just don't see them going the distance. it will all catch up with them after xmas then we'll see. Good for them and Moyes though. imo the leicester story is on a whole different level. nothing will top that achievement. oh and this BS about the big 6 having an off year is really getting old and tired as excuses go. They had blips like all teams do every season we were just that much more consistent. thats not jammy thats being persistent and determined. we had our blips too that season but we came back with a vengeance after each one. After all these years some people still can't accept our deserved win. the jealousy is mind boggling.

Almost relegated and dead last at one stage the season before.

5000-1.

Team full of “rejects” or cheap finds from lower leagues.

West Ham has been in the running for a few years and have decent well known players. Can’t compare.

West Ham have been massive underachievers for years… doesn’t compare to a side full of so called championship and unwanted players like Albrighton winning the league

They are already in Europe, it’s hardly comparable. The fact they are in Europe may well be their undoing if the whole ‘doing a Leicester’ thing was a possibility.

Smith kept a team up through goal line tech breaking for 45minutes. But he'd be a good shout for them next year

Would help a lot if we could get Justin, Fofana and Albrighton back and no more injuriies.
