Premier League 2021/22 Thread

Because we are, 90% of our game is passing it sideways or backwards across the backline, rarely venturing forward until we go behind (Yes, amazingly we scored the first goal yesterday! I was shocked!), getting nosebleeds should we cross the half way line! God forbid!

All because it 'draws the opposition out', i'm yet to see it. Never heard so much bullshit in my life.

The fact we've scored so many is thanks to our clinical striker, we all know about his goal conversation rate, but that usually happens once we're behind in games, behind in games because of passing exclusively between our LB, CB's, RB and back to Schmeichel putting ourselves under constant pressure. going deeper and deeper and the opposition being happy to wait for us to mess up, being, negative.

Yeah that clinical striker has scored two of last ten goals weve scored.

We score aplenty.

Gray starts for Everton

I think he will do well there if he gets a sustained run and gets off to a good start

don’t like to be a smart arse but think his value is going to be a lot more than 1.7m at the end of the season.

The loss to arsenal at home looks even worse now

they have won 2 of 8 away all season, to a poor burnley, and the lads

Mentality is everything in football villa and everton at home out hustled better teams

Its quite simple, desire wins you big games

Just watched Gray's goal and would like to point out that it went in off the post so could have gone anywhere.

If it had bounced out then in the stats it would not even have shown as an "on target" shot.

You'll gather I'm not a fan.

I don't think you can use the fact he scored as a stick to beat him with, tbh! If my auntie had balls and all that.

I don't think I did beat him with any stick whatsoever. There were two statements of fact and one opinion.

I just pointed out that one inch to the right it wouldn't be a "worldy".

Small margins etc.

Good luck to him for grabbing what he can, when he can, but like many in here I believe he will fade again.

But it wasn't one inch to the right?

I don't rate him but you can't criticise someone on the basis they could have missed, but didn't.

Like to know how many bets he's lost over the years. Knew someone who won £50000 on a single bet. 5 correct scores accumulator. Eventually lost it all. Spent too much time visiting in a casino. Mistakenly believed that he was "lucky".

Name the player being discussed on grandoldteam

  • Superb lad. My favourite player at the moment for sure.
  • 1.7 millions...unbelievable...Leicester must be kicking themselves.
  • He's the best thing about Everton these days. I don't know how a player with such ability ended up taking the route he has done in recent years.
  • Best player we've had in 15 years.
  • My god I love him. We finally have a proper direct, pacy winger after all these years.

He had plenty of chances here, just an inconsistent player for us under numerous managers.

So state you don’t understand the comments over negative football someone explains or tries to express their reasoning and that’s why you take from it.

Ok. :schmike:

For the record just to humour you though, yes, that clinical striker thats score 9 of our 23 goals this season, just a few under half of them.

I understand perfectly and it’s something I don’t see. We score goals for fun over the last month.

I think it’s a criticism you could have levelled at us between August and September where we were scored 1s and 2s. With the goals overwhelmingly coming from Vardy but roughly from the October break, we’ve scored aplenty with Vardy not really being in the goals. We created a hatful of chances in the first half at Villa and three in the second half at Southampton for example.
