Make a rule for the FA Cup that any player who has played above a certain number of European or International games can't play in the FA Cup.

This would be horrible and devalue the FA Cup, perhaps more than it already has been.

Scrap the League Cup.  Not enough people are interested.

The Football League would probably collapse with out the revenue this brings in. I'm sure you wouldn't be suggesting this if we were still in the Championship or worst still League 1.

I'm sure the overworked players would be happy to give up a proportion of their salary to compensate.  :teehee:

OK.  Here are some helpful points for Henderson to consider.

1.  Most PL players play about 40 matches per season.  Which even Henderson can't seriously consider to be too many, so we can forget about reducing the size of the league.  Any reduction in fixtures need only affect the teams that play in Europe.

2.  By extension, cut down the number of European games.  Instead of the group stage, have a knockout stage - that would cut 4 games off the schedule.

3.  Scrap the League Cup.  Not enough people are interested.

4.  Make a rule for the FA Cup that any player who has played above a certain number of European or International games can't play in the FA Cup.

5.  Get the players to play their part.  If they want officials to take things like concussion and on-field injuries seriously, then the players need to take it seriously.  They have to stop pretending to be hurt every time a blade of grass touches their shin pad.

6.  finally, if Henderson thinks he can't play for a club like Liverpool because there are too many games and the squad isn't big enough for him to have a rest, then let him insist on a move to a club like Burnley.  Fewer games to play, he'd be happy.  He'd still have far more money than he needs, so that needn't upset him.

Number 5 definitely needs to happen

If Henderson is so worried about player welfare he should instruct his team mates to respect the opposition players and stop trying to break legs and necks and then plead innocence.

The guy is a ****. Had enough for him. You can be critical of players without denigrating them as human beings. Jordan is an elitist **** who looks down on footballers because most of them came from poor-to-average working class backgrounds. If they didn't become pros they'd probably get normal qualifications and get normal jobs like the rest of us. . Make your point without being nasty and vindictive about it.

Totally sick of all these foreign managers sounding off about English football. If they don't like it then why don't they go back to manage in their own countries.

Oh yes, perhaps the reason is the ridiculous salaries they are paid which they would not get in any other country. Hypocrites!

Even worse now is the geezer at Manure sounding off, he's only been here 5 minutes.

And to nobody's surprise, Benitez has got the Burnley v Everton game called off.  It's irrelevant that they have more first team players available than Burnley have, thanks to the size of their squad.  They have a weakened team, some of their key players are out, and they want to face Burnley later in the season.  It stinks.

We don’t really know what our situation was against spurs and Everton - hence we shouldn’t perhaps be chucking stones unless we’re prepared to chuck em at ourselves

I'm chucking stones from the Burnley end, and I know that we have had 3 players out this season with coronavirus but because of social distancing procedures being properly observed, it hasn't spread through the squad and no-one else has had to isolate.  And yet we have had 3 games off due to other teams illness / apparent illness / fear of playing us (!) plus one for snow.  Four games in hand already, and I bet when it comes to replaying them, they won't let Burnley choose when it might be convenient.

People are allowed to complain and moan irrespective of where they come from. This is a terrible take, mate.

True. The Austrian Bundesliga closed weeks ago and will have 2 months plus off. Let Pep and the Fat Spanish Waiter come coach Linz or Rapid Vienna (and get paid about 8,000 Euros a month).

Listening to Man City, Liverpool and Chelsea players and coaches use COVID as an excuse to harp on about player welfare is no different to seeing the Super League clubs use a global pandemic as an excuse to try and push through their money grabbing agenda.

It's self serving shit. As others have said before, nobody forces Klopp to play 100mph football all season or Guardiola to only register 5 subs because he doesn't want to call up any youth players.

Don't get me wrong, the players shouldn't be being asked to play right now in the middle of a pandemic, sure. They should have called the festive calendar off purely on those grounds.

But using it to push the same old shit about how they play too much football which coincidentally just happens to lead down the path of us losing domestic competitions so they can magically play more European games (which is make no mistake what's behind this shit) is purely bollocks.

Cry more, Jordan Henderson, and look a little closer to home.

Henderson is nothing more than english PR for me for big clubs agenda

he earns millions a year lest we forget
