It's years since I followed the league there, but I was always of the opinion that outside of the top 6, the Mainzs and Augsburgs and Freiburgs, the standard is woeful. Guest Kopfkino Posted 2 July 2021 Share Posted 2 July 2021 Wolves signing Ait-Nouri for 10m with a 50% sell-on that they can buy out, having agreed 18m last season. Seems quite a clever way to get round short-term tight financials without actually having to give away 50% when he’s sold. I know he was highly rated but apart from his first game I thought he looked a bit meh, only 20 though so a great deal
leicesterseddon Posted 2 July 2021 Share Posted 2 July 2021 (edited) The problem for us has been developing a squad when every summer we are risk losing our best players to bigger clubs. Maybe the pandemic will prove something of a circuit-breaker (so to speak) in that respect, at least this year. Will be interesting to see what other clubs spend, but realistically I think only Chelsea, Man City (and maybe Man Utd) in the PL have the money/owner backing these days to nab our players. DerbyshireFox Posted 2 July 2021 Share Posted 2 July 2021 Jack Harrison gone to Leeds on a permanent. Done really well for them in his loan spells. £11m in this day and age is excellent value

fox_up_north Posted 3 July 2021 Share Posted 3 July 2021 Man United, to me, have become like that middle age bloke who was the company hot shot in his 20s and has now been given a level of management and responsibilities he's not suited to. He jizzes money on company days out or Christmas do's and keeps buying Porsches and Ferraris, but not knowing what to do with them. Somehow he keeps his positions and avoids a hiding from the owners, despite underperforming and everyone hating him. 3
mozartfox Posted 3 July 2021 Share Posted 3 July 2021 It must be so frustrating for Manure and Liverpool that they can no longer dick teams like Leicester about anymore. Rudder's rear is no longer a place easily penetrated by the bigger teams. Even Sporting have stopped robbing us blind.

demon_dog Posted 3 July 2021 Share Posted 3 July 2021 I see sporting index have predicted 21/22 season table, what are your thoughts on this? 1. Man City 88 2. Liverpool 77 3. Chelsea 77 4. Man Utd 73 5. Arsenal 63 6. Spurs 61 7. Leicester City 60 8. Everton 55 9. Leeds 55 10. West Ham 52 11. Aston Villa 51 12. Brighton 46 13. Wolves 45 14. Southampton 45 15. Newcastle 41 16. Burnley 40 17. Norwich 38 18. Crystal Palace 37 19. Brentford 37 20. Watford 35 I would fully expect us to finish above both Spuds and the Gunners.

Who made those predictions? Paul Merson or someone equally as clueless. How can they predict points? That really is pure guesswork. Surely can’t have been done by a computer because an algorithm would never throw that table out.

Seems a pretty lazy attempt, rich 6 at the top, promoted sides at the bottom, us and Everton next up and the rest in some order in the middle. Don’t know how this window has convinced anyone that Spurs or Arsenal will gain any points on us

It's a betting company. They offer markets in how many points each club will finish on. That table merely reflects where punters' money has gone so far. And yes, many foolishly place bets based on emotion (e.g. Tottenham are my club) or outdated information (Arsenal are a top six club).
