Lampard is a terrible appointment for a team in Everton’s predicament. So far he has failed at Derby and failed at Chelsea.

He may have brought through some good young players, but certainly didn’t get the best out of the squad he had at either club.

Everton have some decent players, but needed someone who can get them playing. I think if they don’t get a new manager bounce and a couple of wins early on, they are in real trouble.

Brentford, Newcastle, Leeds and Southampton are his first 4 games, so there is a real possibility of points there. However, if they get less than 6 points it will be a tough battle to the end of the season and I don’t know if Frank has the fight in him to ensure survival.

Everton right now cannot attract too many top coaches, it was always going to be Big Dunc Rooney or Lamps. Any of them are risks, but Lampard has more experience than those 2 and despite what many on here think I think he will make a good manager. He's got an eye for talent, did pretty well to get Chelsea 4th in his first season, and is still very raw on managerial terms. I think he will do a good job there.

Failed at Derby is a bit strong, got them to a playoff final in a pretty strong league that season.

The squad they had that season should have won that league. Not getting promoted that season is what’s put them in trouble now.

Mason Mount, Tamori, Ashley Cole, Curtis Davis many other quality players at that level too. Not getting that team promoted has to be been as a failure.

Well, their uk subsidiary is worth the grand sum of £1k. Check them; FBS Tradestone Ltd.

The two Directors are a respectively a Lebanese and Cypriot accountant, plus Tradestone HQ, in Limassol. Who rent an office suite at a serviced office.

I'm not moaning that the money stinks of comfort fabric conditioner. I just can't take the high horse that Man City are at it and we are clean as a whistle

FBS has a fairly key role in the type of global financial management that keeps countries in business - they're far too clever to be anything like traceable or accountable

Mount and Tomori were still very young (and only went to Derby because of Lampard) Cole joined mid way through the season and was almost 40. I don't particularly rate Lampard as a manager but I won't discount him either mainly because he's only had two full seasons is it as a manager? I just think it's harsh to say he failed at Derby in his first year of management in probably one of the toughest leagues there is.

Don't rate the guy but he wasn't a failure at either club. He did okay with derby. Finishing 6th is about where I rate them as a club. At Chelsea he had many flaws but he worked wonders his first season with the development of Mount Abraham, Reece James etc.

Really random observation from the Fantasy Premier League App that I’ve just made - we’re the 6th highest scorers in the league at the moment with an average of 1.7 goals per game. If we score our average of 1.7 goals in our 3 games in hand we will be the 5th highest scorers in the league and only just behind Westham in 4th. However, we are dead last in the table for most crosses in to the box. We’ve put 249 crosses in to the box compared to Wolves’ 301 in 19th. In fact, Liverpool who are top of the list have put in more than double what we have. Even if we had played 23 games as we should have by now, we’d still be last on the list by more than 20 or (on average two games’ worth of crosses).

Why are we so low? And don’t say it’s because we don’t have any height because Liverpool have a tiny front 3. I feel like we get in to crossing positions so often and then pass back to a full back or even further back. Why?

A few reasons:

Ricardo and Justin, who are 2 most attacking full backs, have hardly played a game.

Barnes has been struggling to get back to his best after injury and prefers to come inside and shoot rather than going outside and crossing.

We've still not solved our weak spot at RW - Lookman has looked much better down the middle or on the left.

Fair point.

Though if anonymity and lurking in the shadows is  FBS's thing, why choose to draw attention  to your logo on the shirts of a team beamed live to the world for 42 weeks a year?

Bit annoying this winter break, particularly as the 6 nations doesn't start until next weekend. Watching the egg-chasers could have made an acceptable substitute.

There's plenty football still on mate

Why would we cross the ball in?

It’s not playing to the strength of any of our attacking players. The fact we don’t is a good sign that we are playing the ball on the floor ans to the strengths of our attackers, rather than just lumping into the box and hoping for the best.

Also the fact we are top six for goals scored tells us this approach is working.

That’s one way to look at it. Another way would be that if we crossed it more regularly we could be in the top 4 for most goals scored. Potentially.
