STUHILL Posted 18 July 2021 Share Posted 18 July 2021 I thought Everton were big spenders Those two signings stink of a newly promoted club on a shoestring budget! Everton could really struggle for anything more than mid-table if so

Tuna Posted 19 July 2021 Share Posted 19 July 2021 Gray to Everton I think even the most patient Leicester fans accepted he was not good enough by the time we finally sold him. Also shows how out of date Rafa's knowledge is, still thinks it's 2018-19!

I see a lot of Everton fans saying the same things we were about him early on, like he just needs a run of games and the potential is there etc. Of course there is always a chance.. but I was one of the patient fans and even I had to accept he just isn't that good!
AKCJ Posted 19 July 2021 Share Posted 19 July 2021 Not a bad move for Everton if we're honest. 2m for a 4th choice winger with pace to burn is a good option at a good price. Only two years ago he was in the England squad (albeit with the intention of selling tickets at the KP). 2

His whole issue here was that he wasn't getting consistent playing time. Can't see any change going to Everton. A Crystal Palace/Burnley club would have been better for his career. Curious to see if he makes any impact there though.
CrispinLA in Texas Posted 19 July 2021 Share Posted 19 July 2021 What a load of s*** are Chelsea in the transfer market/recruitment, they got got an army of loanees that have come back from other clubs and they don't know what to do with them and to it up just read they are quitely asking other clubs if they want to sign their flop Timo Werner after just one season, when he goes hope he turns into a Lukaku, Salah or De Bruyne. Chelsea now want another striker in Haaland, a club with way to much money and no morals in financial transfer market

And after serving a ban and a fine (halved by CAS), they go on to spend the third most amount of money in a transfer window ever. And then in the middle of the season they try to set up a private league that would bankrupt everyone else. Absolute scum.

I would expect Benitez to run the same style of attack/counter attacking style. Without the need to have as much possession as we play with here. Both players seem to do their best when they have less time to think and more time to react. Think that Gray running onto loose balls behind the striker is optimum for him to score goals and make an impact on the match. An open field suits him. Money well spent in my opinion. Like Vardy in our first season in the Premier League, got the all round game minus the composure, confidence etc. and is just waiting to explode and score 20 next campaign. They'd be fools to let go unless they were getting at least what they paid back. Chelsea arent letting go, Havertz & Werner were brought in for huge money and when it wasn't working for them they appointed a countryman manager in Tuchel to help and then immediately won the Champions League. To me they look good to win the League this season. Liverpool aren't guaranteed to bounce back and Man City finished the season ropey.
