KV Mechelen has just announced that they will not accept their 3-0 defeat, even though they forfeited the game/didn't show up.

To be continued...

That’s exactly why I think the Premier League have been poneposting games. In Serie A, there were occasions last season where a 3-0 default win got overturned and the game played after the courts and legal system got involved

I don't mind games being postponed because of COVID. If a team has to miss 7 or more players due to the virus it's common sense to postpone a game.

In Mechelen's case COVID wasn't the real issue. They had 3 players out with COVID, including their 1st and 3th goalkeeper. The real reason why they wanted to postpone the game is because they missed some key players due to injury, suspension and the Africa Cup.

Do we have any news on a new striker yet? The CEO said the homework was done, but it seems that someone did actual homework instead and forgot to buy a striker. We are supposedly going for Lamkel Zé on loan who's a complete nutter, but a good player... and also he's a winger. If he was top of the homework list that was done some things really need to change at OHL when it comes to the director of fooball and/or scouting.

FWIW, Lamkel Ze is perfectly capable of playing as a center forward. He did so at Antwerp under Vercauteren when they pulled him back from the B team because they had nobody else to play there, and was quite impressive.

I think in our current tactic we could use the type of player Henry was for us. A targetman who can play with his back towards the goal and create or score goals depending on the opportunity. I'm not sure if Lamkel Zé fits that profile. He has a lot of pace which we currently lack overall in the team. In that case I could see it work if we start playing through balls from the center.

I just realised we don’t have anyone loaned to leuven? Seems odd

....no point if doing that is going to inflame their manager!!!

He feels undermined by King Power shipping in players without his say so, it caused a big problem before, we learned our lesson. OHL needs to develop as a team in the top tier of the Belgian League, that means we are not throwing in suspect players in order to boost our club to the detriment of OHL.

OHL needs to bring someone in this window to help to push them on, they are not too far from being a solid top 4 team, too many moments of lapses and lack of focus has held them back.

Every single time we get ahead, we start leaning back... for what? Every single time it's been proven that that doesn't work? Does Brys ask them to do that, or do the players have shit for brains?

You can't expect different results from doing the same thing over and over again.

You could also tell the players were far from sharp, no concentration.

And I also don't think it helps telling in advance in the media that you need to win against the next two teams (whoever they are). It clearly messed with their expectations today.

....we have a poor history against this team, we always come up short when we play them!!!

Was their last sub their #9, as he was playing like it was a park kickabout. Turning players, beating players and just seem to take all the pressure off their defence. If he can't start for his team, then we need to get hold of him.

Not sure about his pace but we need someone who can keep the ball upfront and link the play centrally. We keep having to go wide and do not have the quality in the box to get on the end of crosses.

How on earth have you scored 3 to beat St Gilloise and Charleroi, then turned around and conceded 3 to lose to these?

Those of us hoping there would be synergy between the two clubs, seems like that isn't happening either.

Because our tactics are all wrong.

We only play 1 formation: 5-4-1. This works quite well against the "big" teams as we can play counter attacking football. But against the "smaller" teams, it simply doens't work because we can't create any chances. In my opinion we need to play a 4-3-3 formation against the smaller teams, with Mercier as a CAM and 2 wingers.
