Holy crap!  I just flipped to ESPN+ to see what was streaming and OHL are on ESPN  :schlupp:  

 

Of course there's been four RUSG attempts on goal in the 3 minutes I've been watching, and they just scored ...

 

But hey, it's a miles better stream than hesgoal

The season is sputtering to a close for you.

 

I guess win one-lose one-draw one midtable security is not bad for a first season up?  And yet slightly disappointing considering the quality of a few of the wins.

 

Is it too early to ask for you OHL fans' views on it?

Second season up. :) Apart from that, I think the second season is usually the more difficult one. With having to replace a lot of goalscoring potential after the departures of Henry and Sowah, I think this hasn't been that bad of a season. On the other hand, it's disappointing that we dropped so many points against the little teams. If we'd done better there, we'd probably be in a playoff spot right now.

So you're going to finish 11th.  Same place as last year, with just about the same goal differential.  No playoffs or play-downs.  Is this disappointing, or a place you can still build from?

The goal was to do better than last season, so I'm a bit disappointed. We should've at least finished in the top 10 and if you look at all the points we lost against the small teams we should've qualified for the playoffs in my opinion (top 8 finish).

 

This summer is again very crucial for our club. We need to sign a couple of key players who can lead us to a spot in the playoffs.

To be fair you lost two players who contributed 29 goals and 14 assists between them in Henry (21 goals and 6 assists) &  Sowah (8 goals and 6 assists).

 

I think considering that you have done ok.

I think considering that you have done ok. 

Probably, but I understand where Bonanza's coming from to be honest. We've had quite a few games where we had the clear upper hand but because those two players weren't properly replaced, we lost them. You can check the highlights against Antwerp to see what I mean. We should have been 3-0 up at halftime, instead we're 0-1 down. And that's very frustrating because it means we could have finished quite a bit higher.

Union, Club Brugge, Anderlecht and Antwerp will compete in the Champions Playoffs:

 

1st place wins the league and qualifies for the Champions League group stage

2nd place qualifies for the 3th qualifying round of the Champions League

3th place qualifies for the playoff round of th Conference League

4th place has to compete with the winner of the Europe playoffs for a spot in the second qualifying round of the Conference League

 

KAA Gent, Charleroi, KV Mechelen and KRC Genk will compete in the Europe Playoffs

 

1ste place has to compete with the 4th placed team of the Champions playoffs for a spot in the second qualifying round of the Conference League

2nd place /

3th place /

4th place /

 

For STVV, Cercle Brugge, OH Leuven, KV Oostende, KV Kortrijk, Standard, KAS Eupen, Zulte Waregem and Beerschot the season is over.

 

RFC Seraing has to compete with RWDM (2nd place in 2nd division) for a spot in the 1st division. They will play a home and away

 

Beerschot drops down to the 2nd division and will be replaced by Westerlo, who won the 2nd division this season.
