There's something very special and unique about Fuchs for me.

 

I rarely these days feel any emotional connection with players, but it's different with Fuchs. I can't really explain it, but he's got some sort of X factor in my eyes - almost like I know him.

 

He's one of those blokes who oozes positivity, authenticity, humor, and humility. Just a great guy and a wonderful pro.

 

I'll really miss him and I don't think we can underestimate his impact on our club both off and on the pitch.

 

One of my all time favorites. I think I actually love him a little bit :wub:

Agree. What a legend. Culturally he helped to make Leicester today. Sat on the bench selflessly while watching Chilwell - must have been tough when I still think he was way better than Chilwell but he is always the team first. Will miss Fuchs.

That’s me holding the shirt with Fuchs the Sunday after we beat Man City en route to the title. Knowing how good of a guy he is and how much he absolutely loves the club makes me even prouder to count myself as a supporter. 

 

So many great stories from that night (and the other photos in that tweet!) but I’ll share this one with everyone. 
 

We had other plans that evening but wound up spending most of the evening over pints at Duffy’s (yep!). At one point in the night, two older winos at a the next table noticed my accent and asked me where I was from.
 

Me: I’m from New York.

 

Them: Why the f*** are you here, then?

 

Me: I’m here for the football and to be in Leicester! 

 

Chris: (jokingly) Don’t you know who he is? He’s the number one Leicester guy in New York! 

 

We got back to own our conversations for a few minutes before the guys interrupted again. 
 

Them: (to Chris) Wait. You have an accent. Where the f*** are you from?

 

Chris: I’m from Austria. 


Them: Then why the f*** are you here?

 

Me: Don’t you know who he is? He’s the number one Leicester guy in Austria!

 

Them: We have a defender from Austria. 
 

Chris: I heard!

 

Them: Come to think of it, you look a bit like him. 
 

Me: Well, they’re both from Austria. 
 

Them: Ah, that explains it!


 

Can’t say enough about the guy. Great dude, helluva player, a model pro, and a lot of fun. They don’t make many like him and we were damn lucky to have him.
