Apologies if already started but I can’t recollect a season in the top flight where we’ve had so many really nasty injuries to key players?

Whats the physio situation at the club at the moment just out of interest?

Can anyone recollect so many injuries in a campaign as we’ve had this season?

There hasn’t ever been …..

 

other clubs affected badly too

 

lack of preseason following a strange season before 

 

and little downtime through the season to rest those with niggles that then became proper injuries …

We had a terrible injury list - we must put that in perspective to how our season has ended up. The players that have suffered bad injuries were all players that make a big difference to the side. But we just get on with it.

According to WhoScored only 5 players didn’t miss at least 10 premier league games for one reason or another..

 

Schmeichel (0)

Tielemans (0)

Vardy (4)

Maddison (7)

Albrighton (7) 


Vardy and Maddison’s definitely injuries, Albrighton more than likely an unused substitute on 7 occasions. 
 

That. Is. Ridiculous.

Brendan Rogers never moaned about injuries. He kept us around the top of the table consistently and won a cup DESPITE having a significantly smaller squad and all the injuries to key players

Every one of us has our own opinions on our manager. This is one area where he certainly should come out glowing in everybody's mind without exception. He really didn't moan. He went with what he had left, made some mistakes, but for the most part, got about as much as he could from a decimated squad. 

The last few games, tough as they were to watch, almost pale into insignificance considering what he's had to deal with. One look at our bench on Sunday tells you that. 

Rodgers has impressed me (more than I thought he would) in a number of areas. Putting aside the unfortunate slipping out of the top 4 for a moment (not easy I know) in the last two seasons, he's had a ridiculously uncertain 'covid' season, followed by an injury ravaged 'covid continues' season. I think he's dealt with it all manfully overall and came excruciatingly close to really ****ing up one of the financial behemoths in our league by denying them Champions League football. Just not quite...

The following players all missed at least 10 EPL games through injury. Looking at the list 9 of those are regular first team starters when everyone is fit.

That's just insane. We've been without most of the squad for more than a quarter of the league campaign.

 

I think the injuries to JJ and Barnes were especially cruel. They were both on top form, and were the team's main source of pace.

 

As much as it stings to miss out on CL by a gnat's cock again, we have done incredibly well considering.

I’m sure we’d have breezed it if Justin and Barnes hadn’t have been injured 

Very bad luck for us
