The thing is these aren't the other options anymore. If 5 at the back is the way forward (As has been blatantly obvious for the last 18 months, with the personnel available for the large part), then we only need to play 2 central midfielders.

Tielemans, Mendy, Praet, Ndidi should all be ahead of him. We can't afford KDH's lack of quality in the same way we can't afford Soumare's lack of running/effort.

It should be 2 of Youri, Mendy & Praet for the rest of the season.

I agree if we are playing a 2 it should be Tielemans and Mendy.

Disagree about Ndidi, the guy is a liability and has been responsible for a number of the goals we have conceded just since Rodgers left alone.

Also not sure about the bolded bit. I’d take KDH out the team in favour of the two above but not due to lack of quality but confidence shot and needs a break.

As a general rule in our position, Id say a lack of effort is a lot more likely to cost us. If the players we have play to the levels they can, we will/should be fine. If we have players not putting the effort and below par, then we will simply not be.

It was a general high energy performance from the team against Wolves but I actually thought KDH looked low in energy when he came on the pitch today. He struggled to keep up with play as if he’d been running his legs off in the first half rather than watching the match. On a positive note he got into position to have two shots at goal but overall I thought it was another game where he’ll be annoyed with his own game and where a lot of us are still surprised he is getting selected ahead of Praet even when they are both benched!

Hes not an attacking midfielder.. dont know how many times it needs to be said.  Missed a sitter and should of played a striker in but dithered and dathered like he normally does and allowed Dawson to intercept. These sort of wasted chances cost you and have cost us this season, you have to be ruthless at this level. I like him and hes a useful player as a deeper midfielder doing all the tenacious work (John Mcginn esk), not as a playmaker

He wasn’t very good today.

bizarre commentary on here, looked far better side after his introduction

admittedly had some stinky moments but if you cannot see how important he was to our shape you are lost

They had to play better once he was brought on - to make up for the fact that we were now down a man .

Sorry, but he was bordering on disastrous today.

Everyone of our so called Striker specialists have missed guided-chances,and been crap at the wrong time when, either dithering or slow in sending that end telling pass..or converting that chance..

Also for us this season, find a player that hasn’t cost us a goal, through misguided pass,or caught on the ball, they have all took us into that Twighlight zone…

I find it incredible, that posters pick out individual players for specific criticism, where

every single player this season, is burdened with all sorts of gameday baggage..

plus many a top great player have been one-footed.

.I don’t know why some posters try to be clever and point it out. It’s a none relevant

topic.. I could fill the whole forum with those great names..

Just do your own search,

those on FT will find what a poor analyst of the game they are..

Crazy going on about KDH being one footed..

He's lost form. But let's not forget the energy and drive he has added to the team in the last year. He needs to seriously work on his end product i.e. distribution. But a good manager can coach that. Let's stick by KDH.

Surely a PL footballer should not be needing to be coached on the basics of the game.

Passing, controlling the ball and shooting should be mastered at under 8s level 🤷🏻‍♂️

Ridiculously one footed and stealing a living as a Premier league footballer sadly. Honest, yes, hard working yes, but not at this level sadly

Agreed mate. Choudhury and Thomas both need selling too. Between them they’ve got away with so much over the years because they’re ‘homegrown’

I think it was Tielemans who was the liability today throughout and together with his performance in the last game, needs to be on the bench. I accept that he's not up to speed but there's no room for sentiment or the once in a blue moon great pass or shot because his overall game and persistent giving the ball away far outweighs any potential good points. He was puffing and blowing like a fat girl. We haven't time for him to get up to speed, he's a shadow of the player he was a couple of years ago.
