It's the fact he went looking for the ball. 

 

There were times Thomas had the ball and KDH showed for him down the line and carried the ball away. When Soumare was on he'd stay central and get easily pressured and panicked. 

 

Also helped that KDH would support Maddison in the moves going forward. Definitely a player that will have a big part in the rest of our season.

I think the players must be thinking the same as most sensible fans when it comes to Soumares performances

Likes a challenge, energetic, positive, and most importantly wears black boots.

Not going to go overboard, but amazing what difference someone with a bit of energy and willingness to show for the ball makes. We looked far more cohesive as attacking and defensive units when he was on the pitch.

 

I don't think he is a particularly special talent, but looks a tidy squad player and certainly deserves a start over Soumare at Villa.

There is no question he deserves a start and a decent run in the squad with Tilly out and Soumare out of form. I hope Rodgers sees this and gives him his chance.

I like that he is prepared to pass forward, run with the ball and he wants the ball, he needs to play if Youri is not on the pitch.

Cross field ball to Barnes was just class. We so often try to play in tight spaces which is good sometimes but other times, a ball like that can open up a team and it did. 
 

Lots of potential.

Just far more balanced when he was on. Played okay, some nice passes but the balance and energy he had were the key rather than anything else.

Like night and day compared to Soumare

A bit like Choudhury under Puel, something different stands out and gives the team a lift. Both encouraging that he's capable but also poor that he's needed with all the talent we have.

Yeah start KDH, give Tielemans 20-30 mins and then start him vs Napoli as we can't fcuk about. HUGE week ahead.

Needs a run of games now, like Soumaré had. He’s still getting to the pace of the Premier League and needs an extended run to improve that and to have a chance to prove himself. Soumaré needs taking out of the firing line and maybe a spell on the bench as an impact sub might help him.

Exactly that I think half of our issues when the defence have the ball and they are pressed is that the options available to them are few.
 

There’s little things he did second half which were far more about being in a team than making passes etc.
