On the ball still got quite a bit of development to do and not sure if technically he has what it takes to be a top end prem midfielder, however, what I will say is off the ball he is excellent, with his pressing and tracking runners, and is exactly what this team needs at the moment

If we signed this guy for £30m people would be saying hmm he’s doing ok etc. The fact he came through our academy and we’ve not paid anything is great. Also added bonus that he actually supports Leicester and is also anti goal music.

I liked how he lost the ball today, but recovered with a toe poke. I believe we scored from that move.

He fades as the games go on, but as he adjusts to this level, that should improve. Great effort and good sides need that workhorse type player. Like him a lot.

He reminds me of Muzzy a bit.

He just seems to be everywhere and involved in most things.

He’s currently playing the mezzala role in this 4-3-3 that we’ve stumbled upon and it’s actually something we need to stick with, it allows Maddison to play the narrow, inside forward role from the right with Barnes offering the more direct winger role on the opposite side. Youri clearly enjoys playing with him as well and personally I would like to see us move Ndidi to centre back for the foreseeable until Fofana is back as it allows us to have a better ball player in Soumare in his natural role of screening the back 4 which helps with our passing game.

We've tried 433 a number of times this season, but it's never really looked that good. But KDH today in the role you've pointed out did help make it work. A mezzala is the widest central midfield player whose role it is to drift wide from the centre, so essentially becoming a central / half winger. Actually it's something that KDB does, which is kind of ironic given his abbreviation .

 

His passing and movement are better than Soumare, as his his workrate. So whilst Bouba is still a good player, he's not been that effective in the 433, whereas KDH looks like a much better fit. I don't think it's a surprise that both Tielemans and Maddison had better games for example, and in fact Soumare had a better game too as he could focus on simpler passes, so Youri and Maddison were the main creative forces.

 

This sort of position often doesn't look that special, but then you notice that said player features in games a team wins, and doesn't feature in games they lose. Kovacic for Chelsea is the prime example. At the end of the season he doesn't have that many assists or goals, and yet you'll hear Chelsea fans speak very highly of him because he's so important to the team when they are at their best.

 

So today we had Soumare as the screener (when Evans went off Ndidi went to CB), KDH as the mezzala and Tielemans as the box-to-box midfielder. Having a Mezzala means one wide player can play very wide (Barnes), whereas one can play more centrally (Maddison). If you think about it, that means we can get the best out of pretty much every player we have available. Ricardo might be a better option that Castagne in this system as he could bomb on past Maddison to provide more width, though usually Castagne is more solid at the back. Though we certainly learned that Timmy does NOT like Pizza today, as he tried his hardest to ruin our clean sheet bonus!

KDH was immense today. At one point in the second half he made a poor forward pass but recovered to tackle the Newcastle player who intercepted it. He epitomised energy and desire and I feel it is starting to rub off on his team mates. Tielemans celebrated winning a throw in ffs which was brilliant to see.

Loving this new team selection , including wilf in defence .  Kdh is the real deal , keep picking him , think he’ll go beyond what we even thought in these early games .  This team is our blue print , adding foffana to it , we will fly up the league .  But don’t want to get carried away , it was camel fc

He is visably growing in confidence with every game. Our midfield was missing energy, dynamism, even enthusiasm. He provides all these. At the moment I cannot contemplate him not playing

It’s easy to look happy and together as a team when you’re scoring and winning like today . However it’s a while since the team looked so together, full of energy and selfless running and enjoying playing with each other like today . This was summed up with little individual contributions from lesser lights like Albrighton KDH and  Thomas and  the speed with which the team spotted dangerous attacking threats and doubled/ trebled up . Saint maximin wriggling through two or three challenges only to have the ball nicked off him by Patson was perfect example of that

He was fantastic. Seeing a few people downplay his technical ability but he’s not even started 3 PL games for us yet. 
 

From his Luton spell it’s obvious he’s a gifted footballer.

He’s technically very good. His downfall at the minute seems to be giving the ball away later on in games. But he can do it all. I would class him as an all action midfielder.
