....and the fact that he plays with his shirt tucked in (sometimes!).

Reason for this is probably because he was always very small through the age groups so he had to tuck his shirt in as the shirts were always way too big for him and drowned him    :)

Love this insight!

I'm so pleased to see him doing well. His drive and determination is exactly what we need right now. Definitely being rewarded for his patience so far.

Goes to show why you can't be 'Snobbish' about signing players from the Championship.....Same with Justin in that regard.

Young upcoming players from lower leagues, have served us incredibly well, Justin/Vardy/Mahrez/Kante etc.

I'd rather be signing lower league youngsters with potential, than guys like Vestergaard/Bertrand who have absolutely nothing to offer.

It is crucial we keep on with this tradition

Big differences between Choudhury and KDH is that Choudhury is a very one dimensional player who doesn't read the game very well, hence the lunging tackles and always seemingly chasing back from the wrong side of the ball.

KDH is similarly athletic but far more adaptable in his style of play, technically much better and reads the game very well....and he's a very humble lad as well so none of this will ever go to his head.

You missed that KDH can control a football and doesn’t play every pass either backwards or 5 yards behind a player!!

Great article that from Sky.

Quite ridiculous when you think about it that he's only played a handful of games for us. He is older than the likes of Barnes, Thomas, Choudhury and Chilwell when making his debut, but at the same time has been a lot more impressive than those guys. He's playing like a ready-made Premier league player from the off!

He's got one hell of an engine on him. A workhorse of a midfielder. He and Youri completing 90s every game could be really good for us. Reliable players who are decent on the ball too but also off it.

Much of Liverpool's success comes from the workrate of their midfielders. They don't grab the headlines like the front three do, but make no mistake about it, at both Dortmund and Liverpool, it was the central midfield work rate and energy that powered Klopp's teams.

When the entire team is on the front foot and presses the game, the game is played higher up the pitch and you are under less pressure defensively. We've already scored multiple goals from successful pressures from KDH, or in a combination pressure with Luke Thomas like for Tielemans second goal against Newcastle.

It might be more difficult to sustain over the Christmas period, but high intensity pressing from our midfield brings out the best in us as a team.

Now, I know every player has a different engine, different physical abilities, but I do wonder why Soumare doesn't look at KDH and take some notes. Obviously KDH is faster and maybe more agile due to Soumare's taller and stronger build, but he has no excuse to not fight to win the ball back in the same way KDH does.

agree with all of this, our lack of (effective) pressing in previous games is part of the reason we have struggled

Probably another reason the club was happy to let Praet go on loan with a view to moving him on. Bringing in some money and replace him in the squad with someone who cost nothing is good business.

KDH is a player that makes others better, always on the move, willing to accept the ball.

KDH and Soumaré should be really up to speed by next season and with Praet probably coming back , we won',t be short of choice. We will need to spend big to replace Youri but we should have the money. The DM position is going to need some thought. Wilf can't be guaranteed a place if he is out of form. Mendy will leave and maybe Hamza as well. I reckon Fofana could easily move forward a bit if and when necessary. That will depend on us getting a proper successor to Jonny this time.

Praet isn't coming back unless we have a new manager.

Give Soumare a chance FFS. KDH is playing for his home town club probably living at home with all his friends and family around him for support and has been at this club for years.

Soumare has left all that behind and is in a brand new country he might take a season to adjust.

In which case he should have plenty of spare time to get in the gym :D

We know they don't get on but in the end it will be down to money. If Torino won't fork out his 3.9 million a year salary somebody else will have to.

They have an option to buy in place, meaning they will already have some agreement with Praet on a permanent deal

I think Soumare will improve upon this season but not radically. Even how he profiled in France isn't overly impressive stats wise. He was a good ball carrier and decent passer but the rest of game has some serious deficiencies

His 22, player development isn't linear, lots of time for he to improve
