Yeah that was absolute class. In fact that sort of ability you almost can't teach, you either have it or you don't.

 

A similar situation was against Liverpool in the Carabao Cup where he got the ball, went on an epic run, then pulled off a Cruyff turn and was only narrowly denied. These are things you do not see the average player producing. 

 

KDH is already a good Premier League midfielder. He would be in most fans first XI already. But he can get even better and Brendan Rodgers is the type of coach that will improve him; see Barnes, Justin, Thomas, etc. It will be interesting to see what they decide to do with him. He could become a box-to-box player like Gerrard, he could become a more attacking get on the end of it type of player like Lampard, he could be more of a deep lying playmaker, but I feel he would be a bit wasted in that position.

 

I've said earlier in the thread that Clarence Seedorf is the player that KDH reminds me the most of. Seedorf played as a left or right sided midfielder in either a 433 or Diamond and was a brilliant ball carrier, passer and engine room. Now Seedorf is a truly legendary player; the man that has won more Champions Leagues than anyone else so I don't expect KDH to get to that level! But I do think there are elements to his game that he could model from one of the best midfielders in recent history.  Perhaps moments from the video below will show you why I think this way:

 

 

Perhaps someone who is a bit more realistic in terms of level to reach would be Moussa Dembele who played for Spurs under Poch. He was brilliant at carrying the ball via dribbling the ball and really helped them move the ball upfield for them.

 

Some on here say that KDH should look to improve his goal and assist tallies, but not all midfielders need to be that type of player. Xavi and Iniesta as examples did not get many goals or assists, but are two of the best midfielders of all time. So there are many ways to develop KDH and get the best out of him.

 

Improvements he needs to make:

- His passing could improve quite a bit. He's capable of playing some brilliant balls because he goes for risky, progressive passes. There's nothing wrong with that, but I think some of those passes could be improved and his short passing at times is a bit wayward.

- Better finishing. He gets normally one good opportunity per game, sometimes more. He almost had a 90 minute 1 on 1 duel versus the Randers goalkeeper in the first leg! A bit more composure here and he would score a LOT more.

- Don't dribble it quite so much. He is a great dribbler and can get out of trouble, but sometimes he holds onto it too long when a quick pass would set the team on it's way a little faster.

This is something that is really obvious. He seems to try and do it all himself. I think he has been doing better at getting rid of the ball the last few games.

Now that he's reached this level where does he go next. I like how ambitious he is for a young player. Sometimes players are content once they get into the 1st team the desire or drive dwindles a little but KDH is a hungry mofo! I listened to his interview on bbc radio Leicester and he genuinely wants to improve and be even better. The sky is the limit and he's going for it. Rogers should continue to allow him to express himself and not smother this out. Yes he may make some mistakes but he's learning on the job. Give him some slack. I genuinely feel we have a top player on our hands in the mold of a lineker even though he's not a goal scorer. Love that he's a home grown player too.

Spot on. I would love to see the stats on the distance that he covered on Saturday, he never seems to get tired. He is so strong in possession as well, can't remember him once getting bullied off the ball on Saturday. KDH is a similar kind of player I was expecting Soumare to be when he joined.

The comparisons with Kante have some merit due to the sheer amount of work KDH gets through. We've looked lethargic and slow in midfield at times this season, but it never feels like that with KDH on the pitch. Outstanding work rate and his tenacity in the challenge, winning 50:50's and holding up the ball up under pressure is really impressive. Proud to watch this kid play for us.

One of the reason I'm not overly concerned about Youri moving on.

 

Totally different player, but has a lot of attributes that Youri doesn't. If we can get a good RW in to make up for the lose of creativity we will be fine.

 

I midfield two of Ndidi and KDH, with Maddison at 10 would work well in my view.

He has the right level of passion that can get stuck in without fouling in the modern game. 

 

Great player and hopefully has a massive future for us. Dare I say he is the kind of player England are missing ?? With the likes of Henderson coming to the end of his career?

Exactly.

 

We shouldn't look to replace Tielemans like for like because it's not going to happen. We can't afford or attract a player of his ability.

 

We're better off giving the position to KDH and spending the money on a proper winger.

Hes got no chance of England sadly. Doesn't play for a trendy club and doesn't have England age group caps.

 

It's a shame but he's going to struggle with that.

I don't know. He seems exactly the type of player Gareth Southgate goes for to me.

Only a matter of time before the likes of Danny Murphy announces that KDH 'deserves' to play for a big club. Perhaps the bloke in the waistcoat might take notice then.
