I know I’m preaching to the choir but just to process that claim:

Derby need to get enough points that would normally get them to the playoffs to stay up, and that would be a greater achievement than us winning the league when we did? Granted in November of the respective seasons, we were about 200/1 for the league and Derby were probably 500/1 to stay up, but it doesn’t change the stupidity of what he’s saying lol

Ian Holloway got Blackpool to the playoffs (and won them, of course) with an equally bad squad. Remember when we won the league at 5,000/1 and everyone was saying it was the biggest underdog story in sporting history, other than Blackpool getting promoted that one time? Basically the same lollollol

Don't remember anyone saying that to be fair.

Is it just me that thinks that wouldn't be the end of the world for Derby? They're an absolute mess and despite the dislike a lot of people have for Ashley, he didn't run Newcastle into the ground with any irresponsibility. There's clearly a limit to his ambition / spending, arguably off the pitch more than on it - but if I were a Derby fan I wouldn't be vomiting into my replica at that link.

Ashley would be great for Derby

Anyone who has a negative opinion on him as a football owner has listened too much to Shearer and a load of deluded Geordies thinking they’ve a God given right to be competing for trophies, purely because they have a lot of fans.

Someone who refuses to splash the cash in pursuit of wild dreams is what Derby could’ve done with 10 years ago, and it’s definitely what they could do with now
