It sounds unreal. In addition to the increase in capacity, preliminary plans will include a 220-room hotel and a multi-purpose event and entertainment arena. There are also proposals for a new Leicester City retail space, residential and commercial space, and multi-storey car parking facilities – enhancements to the site that can further the evolution of both the Football Club and the city. The developments will further underline Leicestershire’s reputation as a home of world-class sport and create a 365-day destination that will support the regeneration of an area that has been the home of the Football Club for 130 years. It is a project with the potential to generate enormous social value, starting with a substantial number of additional jobs for people in the region. It's obviously more that just a stadium expansion, its a major development but I'm starting to think even 40k won't stretch that far. Really hope they leave it open for even further development to stands in the future. I wonder if it will be offered/rented to Leicester Riders in quiet periods. Either way, exciting redevelopment of an area which is perhaps only used when the football is on. I'd rather we are at capacity for a few more years before looking to expand again. Am I right in thinking it's just the West Stand that can't be expanded on?
